We are very proud of the first edition of our Allianz Group DEI booklet. You can expect a detailed insight into our strategy, our targets/ambitions, which we want to achieve by the end of 2024. In particular, we focus on the five dimensions: gender, disabilities, nationalities/ethnicities, generations and LGBTQ+.
We offer employees with disabilities an equal opportunity to succeed, to learn, to be compensated fairly, and to advance. True inclusion is about embracing difference and our commitment to disability inclusion is a deeply held belief to build, foster, and grow a workplace culture that is welcoming to people of all backgrounds. We want to be by your side and ensure you receive the necessary accommodation when needed, which is why we encourage everybody to self-disclose their disabilities from pre to post-onboarding, so we can innovate how we work and the tools and technology we use with the hopes of empowering our employee community to spark a positive change.
Our people are as diverse as the world itself. Discover their unique stories.
In March 2022, Allianz Engage and Allianz NEO began searching for inspirational women aged 50+ willing to share their workplace experiences and life lessons as part of an Age and Gender Inclusion awareness campaign called Fifty Over Fifty.
Today, we are all likely to live longer and healthier than previous generations, and for many people, this means they are embracing the opportunity to work longer too. Yet, negative stereotypes around older age persist in broader society and the workplace. Studies have shown that Ageism is the most common type of discrimination. As age is one of the first things we notice about a person, many of us will likely have experienced it first-hand or possibly also judged someone due to their age.
The purpose of Fifty Over Fifty was to understand women's workplace experiences, including people identifying as women aged 50+. They were asked two simple questions. What are your experiences of being a 50+ working woman, and secondly, what life lesson would you love to share with your younger self?
The response was overwhelming! And the workplace experiences shared were both positive and inspirational, with the life lessons motivating and thought-provoking.
The stories of our finalists debunk many of the negative stereotypes around older age. We hope they are now firmly put away and replaced by the lived experiences and future aspirations of our fabulous over the 50s who prove once and for all that #AgeIsJustANumber.
Our employee networks give individuals a sense of community and the chance to network with colleagues based on a shared identity or experience, as well as with their “friends & allies”. They are an important partner for raising awareness, advocating change and setting our diversity and inclusion agenda.
Allianz Pride is our employee network for LGBTQ+ inclusion with 27 local networks in place covering >50% of the workforce. We encourage a corporate culture that values the diversity of all our employees, independent of their gender expression and sexual orientation, to make the most of their talents and creates a working environment free from discrimination.
