IT Trainee Program
As the IT service provider for the Allianz Group, Allianz Technology contributes to the development, operation, optimization, transformation, and innovation of infrastructure, applications, and services. Together with our customers, we lead IT for Allianz and shape the IT agenda of the Group, now and in the future.
Employing over 13,000 professionals across 22 countries globally, we collaborate with other Allianz entities and leading the way in the digitalization of the financial services industry.
Over the course of 18 months, this program offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the cutting-edge realm of Allianz Technology. Guided by a personal mentor, you'll have the chance to tailor your learning experience, laying the foundation for a successful and rewarding career in the ever-evolving field of IT.
A Journey of Diverse Experiences
From day one, an experienced Allianz manager will accompany you on your way as a mentor. Together, you will determine the individual focus and stages of your tenure as an IT trainee.
You'll be entrusted with significant responsibilities, gaining exposure to managerial challenges while serving as an assistant to a manager. This role will involve actively contributing to both strategic and operational decision-making processes.
An international placement will give you unique perspectives into the global collaboration at Allianz Technology, paving the way for a diverse range of developmental opportunities.

As an IT trainee, you drive topics forward and take on responsibility. Therefore, you should already have practical experience, personal skills, and a strong academic background.

Your experiences
- As an IT trainee, you will contribute your own ideas, learn from mistakes, and manage your initial projects at various stages
- You'll also immerse yourself in the agile environment, taking charge as an agile master for the agile team or serving as a product owner with a technical focus.
- Having an in-depth understanding of at least one database technology and one programming language is advantageous.

Your Profile
- As an IT trainee at Allianz, you have the chance to think outside the box and drive innovation.
- To be successful, you should be able to familiarize yourself quickly with new technologies and promote team spirit.
- You should have completed your studies with strong academic achievements in fields such as (business) computer science, mathematics, business administration (with a major in IT), or a closely related field of study.
- To ensure smooth communication in all situations, we also expect you to have a very good command of German and English.

You can start the IT trainee program flexibly throughout the year. We recommend that you apply 1-2 months before your desired start date.

1. Application

Once received, we'll evaluate your application against the criteria set for prospective trainees.

3. Telephone Contact
Expect an initial phone conversation where you can ask questions and receive additional information. This is also when we schedule your personal interview.

4. Online Test
Following our telephone conversation, we'll email you an online test to evaluate your cognitive abilities through an external provider.

5. Interview
During the interview (in-person or virtually), where we aim to understand you personally and evaluate your professional and social skills.

6. Selection
Following your interview, we'll promptly notify you of your status to commence as an IT trainee with us.
