JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

 

Accounting activities and preparation of IFRS reporting for our Italian Branch to time and quality standards, including appropriate control evidence and enabling sufficient senior review opportunities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•    Responsible for the entire quarter end close including the review and posting of all required journal entries within Group closing deadlines, to ensure compliance with Group accounting standards
•    Support in enhancing the control environment surrounding closing and other recurrent activities
•    Manage in coordination with Branch manager & Financial Reporting team Lead all Italian-related queries (ADE requests, new regulations, etc.)
•    Responsible for the preparation of local statutory results on a quarterly basis
•    Support the planning process for the Italian Branch segment
•    Liaise with Group centres and local Italian regulators to ensure all Group and regulatory reporting requirements are met including various tax filings 
•    Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements, including preparation of supporting documentation and information required by external auditors
•    Stay up to date with all changes to Group, IFRS and local statutory reporting and ensure full compliance with these

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE


•    Bachelor’s degree, Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, etc)
•    Proven  post-qualified experience (e.g. 5+ years) in accounting
•    Working knowledge of SAP Accounting system 
•    Knowledge of life assurance products
•    Knowledge of Italian Tax requirements would be advantageous
•    Clear understanding of key business processes and strategic goals
•    Self-manage multiple priorities, routine work and urgent issues;
•    Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
•    Good analytical skills, technical knowledge
•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•    Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
•    Fluent in Italian and English, written and spoken
