Job Purpose/Role 

 

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) is the dedicated global corporate insurance carrier of Allianz Group and as a global unit embraces a flexible working environment. You will support the chief underwriting office in managing the global LOB portfolio by providing Nat Cat analyses, accumulation management, reinsurance as well as related guidance and underwriting rules. In addition, you will act as multiplier to LOB regional experts by providing training and developing local experts on topics of natural catastrophe and related subjects. Key Responsibilities 

 

In this role you will… 

 

  • Analyze and monitor portfolios (regional and/or global) with regards to their Nat Cat performance to meet top and bottom line targets by using probabilistic vendor models as well as internal tools 

  • Own Nat Cat modeling processes from an underwriting perspective.  

  • Work with back office functions to continuously improve the account modeling and assessment experience for our underwriters. Ensure efficient and smooth processes which support pricing, risk and accumulation assessment of all accounts in the portfolio. Review and revise Nat Cat and non-Cat guidelines to manage single account exposures as well as accumulations (regional and /or global) 

  • Work with relevant functions to develop and conduct trainings on various topics including Cat Modeling and accumulation management. 

  • Act as a multiplier of global guidance to underwriting Regions and help them own Nat Cat topics regionally. 

  • Define scope, agree on timeframes and execute deliverables with internal and external clients. 

  • Lead / mentor others in reporting activities and related analyses including use of in-depth knowledge of the portfolio to explain impacts and options 

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience 

 

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Geosciences, Engineering or Mathematics 

  • You have experience in underwriting practice for industrial risks and corporate business on a global basis 

  • Proven practical experience and familiarity with multiple vendor tools 

  • Ability to asses risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB 

  • Proven experience in Catastrophe Modeling Software (RMS, AIR, EQECAT) and/or GIS (Geographical Information Systems) applications  

  • Technical depth and ability to communicate in a professional way with required levels / functions internally and externally in a global environment 

  • Ability to deliver results, develop talent and performance and drive innovation and change 

  • Lead oneself and others in-line with agreed organizational strategic orientation 

  • Fluent knowledge of English is necessary
