Job Purpose/Role 

 

Based in Munich and reporting directly to the Data Strategist within the Global Data Office, this role is pivotal in the delivery of data analysis supporting the wider AGCS data consumers.

 

In this global role you will be focusing on multiple customer and functional areas within all geographies with a mandate to provide data analytics, data solutions to AGCS projects, products, and business stakeholders. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the interpretation of data requirements from consumers as well as raised data quality issues and the provision of solutions to meet the demands, working closely with data engineers, data scientists and data consumers in AGCS. This will include driving data harmonisation where needed to support the enterprise wide data use cases, diagnose data quality root causes and finding appropriate solutions. In this respect the role is acting as a liaison between business stakeholders, project- and product- representatives as well as IT partners.    


Responsibilities

 

In this role you will…

 

•    Gather data requirements from end users to facilitate development of solutions to satisfy data needs for data analysis and integrations. 
•    Work with Senior Data Analysts and Data Quality Lead in diagnosing data quality issues and constraints raised by the data users, identify root causes and define appropriate solutions 
•    Build data pipelines to pull together information from different source systems; integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data; and structuring it for use in individual analytics applications and other operational uses 
•    Act as a consultant for projects, products, and initiatives when it comes to data and reporting topics.
•    Support products, projects and initiatives in harmonizing data, documentation of business data terms and definitions and technical lineage. 
•    Provide and maintain the respective documents/ frameworks including a Business Data Model and the data requirements capturing process instructions. 

 

To be successful in the role:

 

You will have…

 

•    High experience with programming, scripting, or statistical packages (Python, SQL, R, Matlab; Java is a plus); visualization/reporting/dashboarding skills (Javascript/HTML5/CSS).
•    Minimum 5 years of significant experience in product design and data analytics, programming, and thus qualified analytical skills (ability to analyze highly complex data from multiple sources; identify and resolve issues).
•    Experience working within the agile development environment – managing data and projects using this methodology; you should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to consistently revise approach in response to new information; effectively work together with various team members when gathering requirements, delivering solutions, and eliciting suggestions and feedback.
•    Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex in a simple way to understand terminology; express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally; be able to “sell” an improvised or prepared audience a winning story.
•    MS Office skills (particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Access, VBA). 

            

Ideally you will also have…


•    Insurance knowledge: specialization in functions like Accounting/Actuarial, Claims, Operations, Underwriting specifically from a data perspective.
