JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

Perform pricing and profit testing for new protection, unit linked and investment guarantee products. Perform re-pricing of existing portfolio where needed.

Support product development process for new products and provide actuarial support for customer service queries.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Maintain adequate pricing models for the various lines of business. Prepare pricing notes for review by department managers. Liaise with actuarial, risk and finance departments to agree pricing assumptions.

•    Support product development of new products, e.g. product specification for IT, system testing of product implementation.

•    Provide actuarial support for customer queries on in force portfolio.

•    Conduct reviews of portfolio experience and analyse data trends.

•    Provide ad-hoc support on pricing related issues.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Highly numerate actuarial professional pursuing a relevant qualification.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel in particular).
  • Coding skills in any language and experience in actuarial software or an interest in developing these.
  • Technical knowledge of pricing methodologies and modelling is a plus.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and keep track of deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian.
  • Ability to communicate technical detail in a straightforward manner to support senior management and to engage with commercial colleagues.
  • Self-manage multiple deliverables, with ability to prioritise and adhere to deadlines.
  • Anticipate customer needs and strive to improve service.
  • Demonstrated ability to build successful working relationships with, and manage expectations of, a wide variety of our internal and external customers / stakeholders.
  • A natural problem-solver, and critical thinker.
  • Ability to see beyond a transactional task, and understand the teams combined end goal.
