JOB PURPOSE

 

We are seeking a highly skilled regulatory and public affairs specialist with experience in overseeing domestic / EU regulatory dossier in the insurance and financial sector. Reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs for Italy and based in Rome, in this role you will be responsible of scanning the regulatory and supervisory landscape within the insurance and financial sector, support impact analysis of new policies and regulation, steer the alignment with impacted business functions, support the design of outreach strategies to ensure Allianz's voice is properly contributing to the policy debate. You will also support the Head of function in steering the Regulatory and Public affairs team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•    Monitor relevant positions and trends set by national and EU regulators and supervisors as well as relevant stakeholders
•    Distil complex regulatory proposals into digestible summaries and heads-up for business stakeholders incl. support of monthly alignments with top management
•    Support qualitative and quantitative impact analysis of new regulatory proposals on products and processes in cooperation with business functions 
•    Contribute to the drafting of the company position of regulatory files
•    Support development and planning of advocacy strategies and actions to effectively represent Allianz's stances in relevant policy discussions
•    Contribute the policy debate at both legislative and regulatory levels through formal and informal consultation processes
•    Closely work with other Allianz functions and Regulatory Teams across different markets within the Group
•    Represent the Italian market within Group work-streams on digital, conduct, and sustainable regulations and supervisory reporting on key in-and out-communications with local supervisory authorities

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE


•    Proven professional experience (e.g. 5/7 years) in regulatory affairs in a top-notch financial institution / corporation
•    Knowledge of insurance / financial service regulatory framework at both national and EU level (deep knowledge of insurance products and process a plus)
•    Previous experience as Chief of Staff or PMO in insurance/financial sector would be a plus
•    Experience in government, international organizations, or supervisory agencies, preferably within the insurance or other highly regulated segment of the financial industry
•    Strong ability to gather, distil and mobilize political intelligence relevant to Allianz from various sources, both formal and informal
•    Proven ability to multitask, solve problems, make decisions, and take initiative while working independently and as part of a team
•    Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a keen awareness of multicultural dynamics and confidence in navigating complex international settings
•    Outstanding communication skills and a track record of actively contributing to policy debates in various forums and meetings
•    Open mindset with a focus on process improvement, continuously seeking opportunities for optimization
•    Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools i.e. SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Azure AI, Office (mainly Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
•    Excellent Italian and English and ideally proficiency in German
