We have an opportunity for a Senior Account Executive to join the Home and Legacy business, to  contribute towards the delivery of the Home and Legacy business revenue budget through achieving key performance indicators (KPI’s).

 

You will support this through the placement and underwriting of relevant products in to our Panel Insurers, whilst maintaining technically excellent underwriting standards. You will deliver excellent service to our customers and stakeholders and as a senior account executive you will act as a referral point to internal colleagues and contribute to the technical development and integrity of our business.

 

The role is an advisory one and involves handling a mixture of new enquiries along with servicing existing business. You will work within specific underwriting parameters in line with your individual underwriting authority and insurer binders issued by our Panel Insurers.

 

  • Adherence to individual delegated underwriting authority, referring cases where appropriate and an awareness of the impact case and decisions have on the Panel Insurers account performance  and the achievement of H&L’s own performance
  • Adheres to the delivery of agreed objectives (quality and service) targets across all cases
  • Provides technical knowledge and insight to policy wordings to our customers, working in an advisory capacity to ensure that our brokers and customers purchase the correct products to meet their specific needs and are provided with all relevant information within required timelines and SLA’s
  • Ensure up to date knowledge and understanding of all relevant Compliance and Regulatory rules and procedures
  • Accurate processing of new business, renewal and mid-term adjustment premiums
  • Handling of internal and external customer queries, dealing with them in an efficient, practical and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Takes referrals from and gives guidance to account executives 
  • Will contribute to the technical expertise of the business by assisting with development and quality monitoring of team members
  • Provide feedback and insight to the Products and Markets team about our products to assist in the development and maintenance of the product
  • Liaise with all other appropriate internal parties including Products and Markets, Sales and Marketing, Claims and other Operational teams

 

 

Skills and Experience:

To be a success in this role, you will have proven experience and ability to understand key underwriting concepts and principles as well as the following:

 

  • Understanding of the key elements of regulation and legislation that exist within the general insurance market place
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skilll
  • Previous experience of providing advice to  broker partners and / or direct customers, and offer the most appropriate product for the specific risk  
  • Thoroughly understands skills and tools required for effective underwriting and has the ability to use these key skills to underwrite risks within the terms of allocated delegated authority
  • Understand internal and external provider processes and how this may impact on product delivery and performance including a good understanding of all schemes criteria appropriate for the business lin
  • Has strong technical knowledge of core policy wordings and non-standard covers including terms applicable
  • Awareness of relevant regulatory and legislation requirements and understands implications of own actions in meeting these requirements
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Understands key processes, procedures and targets and is able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
