Job Purpose/Role


Based in Milan and reporting directly to the Head of Financial Lines and Cyber of Southern Europe, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Financial Lines/Cyber business into the Region with a specific focus on Professional Indemnity TECH and CYBER solutions. 
With strong ties to the Regional Practice Group Leaders and senior underwriters, as well as directly with the Head of Financial Lines/Cyber, you will also support the FL/Cyber global and country strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Commercial targets. You will be contact person for brokers and clients working with the Financial Lines & Cyber team, jointly with the Distribution team.

 

Key Responsibilities


- Support the Leader of FL/Cyber: ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines
- Support the Leader of FL/Cyber to prepare and manage any budget and/or targets within the plan
- Steer and control the FL/Cyber portfolio in conjunction with the Head of FL/Cyber to drive the achievement of financial targets
- Drive underwriting planning process and monitor adherence to plan, taking corrective action as necessary
- Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle
- Work closely with Distribution, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.
- Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules, and local regulatory framework
- Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products
- Maintain executive contacts and accompany the Underwriting of all core or strategic accounts
- Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
- Coordinate with local Distribution team to drive successful execution of strategic plan
- Communicate local business strategy externally
- Represent Allianz Commercial internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market
- Involve of Distribution, Risk Consulting and Claims in Underwriting process

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience


- Master’s degree in Law or Business Administration
- Up to 3 years’ experience in underwriting profitable Financial Lines or Cyber business for corporate clients
- Proven experience in pure Financial Lines or Cyber business
- Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle
- Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills
- Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings
- Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong communication skills 
- Able to work in an international matrix organization
- Fluent in Italian and English
