Who will you be joining?

 

Group Accounting & Reporting provides reliable, high quality financial information to management, investors, analysts, regulators and the general public through internal and external reporting. As (Re) Insurance Accounting and Closing Expert in Group Accounting & Reporting you will be part of the Closing and Principles Reinsurance team of Allianz SE. 

 

The Closing and Principles Reinsurance team is in charge of reinsurance-related accounting and reporting requirements under IFRS, HGB and Solvency II for Allianz SE, the holding and reinsurance company of Allianz Group. The team's responsibilities range from preparing monthly, quarterly and annual closings, providing accounting policy guidance and analysing financial data to preparing the presentation of results and reporting of financial information to various internal and external stakeholders, such as Management, Supervisors and the Public. 

 

 

How can you make an impact?


You will:

  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual closings of Allianz SE with a focus on their insurance-related positions.
  • Support the ongoing refinement of the technical accounting processes for IFRS 17.
  • Perform analyses and controls of the financials.
  • Provide guidance under IFRS, HGB and Solvency II from a reinsurance accounting perspective.
  • Act as an interface to our internal and external stakeholders, such as Allianz SE management, other departments within Allianz SE, cedants and internal or external auditors on reinsurance accounting issues and important transactions. 

 

What are you made of?

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You have completed a university degree – preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Mathematics.
  • You have excellent technical skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – VBA/Macro knowledge is a plus.
  • You have a profound knowledge and experience with SAP (FI, BW). 
  • Your fluent written and spoken language skills, preferably in German and English, complete your profile. 
  • Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You are experienced in the preparation of financial closings and have a solid IFRS, HGB and Solvency II accounting knowledge with a minimum of 3 years working experience in the (re) insurance industry.
  • Alternatively, you have +3 years of experience as an auditor. 
  • IFRS 17 knowledge and experience is a very strong plus.
  • You have strong analytical and communication skills. 
  • You have a solid understanding of data modelling, operations and technical workflows with regards to financial reporting and closing operations.
  • You enjoy designing and optimizing processes independently.
  • You have an open mindset and a can-do as well as hands-on attitude.
  • You have a high affinity for insurance and financial market topics and enjoy driving digitalization.
