Job Purpose/Role
Group Data Analytics (GDA) is a department in Allianz SE (global headquarters). We are responsible for shaping a
strategic agenda for Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and executing Data Analytics and AI solutions at
scale, across the entire Allianz Group. Our mission is to add tangible value to our business by driving future business
growth and productivity, and enable data-driven transformation.


We do this by developing globally scalable Data Analytics and AI solutions. We work closely with our colleagues
driving the new global business model (Allianz Customer Model), to increase the impact of analytics and AI in
Claims, Sales, and Operations.


We believe that our long-term success also rests on empowering employees to adopt Data Analytics and AI. We do
this by creating transparency on AI capabilities and assets, providing expert knowledge to local data science teams,
working towards common architecture and coding principles, and running communities of practice.
To make this happen, we are looking for a Data Modeler for our Data Intelligence unit who enjoys working in a fast
paced, data-driven environment to drive a common architecture and data harmonization.
The Data Modeler will enable data-driven decisions by bringing data harmonization within the Allianz Group to the
next level. You will help Allianz to discover and solve insurance problems by making data globally available for
Advanced Analytics and AI use cases, prediction models and visualization. You will focus on that data foundation.
You have experience in other parts of the whole Business Intelligence value chain, such as defining metrics, building
prediction models, scenario analyses or data visualization.
The Data Modeler will work in an interdisciplinary team reporting to the Head of Predictive Business Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design data models to support interactive dashboards, advanced data analytics and AI assets
  • Enable the transfer of data models to Data Governance tools
  • Provide expertise and technical guidance in building data warehousing / dimensional / data vault modeling for predictive Business Intelligence solutions
  • Technical leadership, in respect of Data Modeling, for the global Data Intelligence community
  • Work closely with the Business Analysts and Solution/Technical Architects to ensure the effective translation of business and technical requirements into logical data model
  • Produce specifications that define the data modeling requirements and enable parties to become self-sufficient in producing these specification documents
  • Investigate new business intelligence technologies and contribute to the continuous development of end-to-end data driven architecture.


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • University degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science, actuarial science or engineering
  • Expertise in databases, data modeling and SQL
  • Technical expertise in state-of-the art Business Intelligence tools, e.g. PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau
  • Experience in advanced statistical methods is a plus
  • Fluent business English is a must


Experience & Key skills

  • Work experience in the area of Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing (5+ years)
  • Technical expertise in setting up business intelligence and data integration solutions from requirement gathering to technical implementation
  • Proven experience in designing Data Warehouses / Datamarts / Reporting Solutions for business (ideally in the insurance domain)
  • Very good knowledge of Entity-Relationship modeling (conceptual, logical and physical), Dimensional modeling, Data Vault modeling and of respective tools such as ER/Studio or Erwin
  • Experience in the insurance industry business is a big plus
  • Good knowledge of working in agile project environment
  • Can-do attitude with a strong focus on execution and delivery
