We are looking for an Underwriter – Entertainment (m/f/d), based in London.

The Impact You Will Have 

Based in London, as part of the 7-strong Entertainment team, you will have a direct impact on managing all aspects of the Live Events portfolio. You will ensure the smooth and accurate administration of policies, working closely with other functions to maintain high operational standards. By developing and strengthening commercial relationships with brokers and clients, your efforts will drive business growth and enhance our market reputation within the entertainment sector.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• You will develop and maintain peer relationships with brokers, clients, and the Underwriting teams in the Region and CUO.
• You will underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets in line with the underwriting strategy, with authority based on your experience.
• You will proactively prepare relevant underwriting information, including client and market research and claims data.
• You will assist in the coordination of Natural Catastrophe reporting.
• You will ensure underwriting compliance in line with the Line of Business governance framework, including Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, and Underwriting Guidelines.
• You will assist in achieving contract certainty on all accounts at the time of inception.
• You will assist in ensuring the binding of FAC Reinsurance before policy inception.
• You will work with other functions, such as operations, credit control, MMC, ARC, and Claims.
• You will assist in managing broker facilities, including checking and agreeing on policy documentation, administration, tracking policy progression, and broker follow-up.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• You have at least 2 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a preference for underwriting expertise.
• You hold a degree-level education or are actively pursuing a professional insurance qualification (preferred).
• You possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• You demonstrate strong commercial acumen and a strategic mindset.
• You have solid analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex data and make informed decisions.
• You have a thorough understanding of the policy administration life cycle, including information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, and credit control processes.
• You are familiar with the legal and regulatory framework governing the insurance market.
• You are highly proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• You are fluent in English, both spoken and written.
