Intern (m/f/d) Climate Integration, Global Sustainability
Located at Allianz’s headquarters in Munich, the Global Sustainability department drives the industry-leading sustainability and climate strategy of Allianz Group, integrates climate, environmental, social and governance considerations in the business and operations, manages the corporate citizenship / corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and leads the non-financial reporting and sustainability rating processes. ~crlf~ ~crlf~The team working on the topic of climate change (‘Climate Integration’) is looking for a full-time intern (m/f/d) to start in February or March 2021 for a 6-8 month period.~crlf~ ~crlf~As an intern (m/f/d) in the climate integration team you will primarily work on integrating climate change considerations in the Allianz core business lines of investments and insurance as well as on climate-related aspects of sustainability communication, reporting, ratings and assurance.~crlf~ ~crlf~In your cover letter, please explicitly indicate how your interests and previous work and/or academic experience align with the topic and responsibilities as laid out below. You will work in a diversified and challenging environment, which allows very active involvement with increasing responsibilities in a diversified, high-performing, and dynamic team. Depending on your skillset and interests, your tasks may include:~crlf~##Conduct general research and prepare briefings~crlf~##Analyze data sets on companies’ climate performance ~crlf~##Prepare internal and external communication materials~crlf~##Assist in the preparation, collection, aggregation and analysis of climate-related information and data for various reports (sustainability report, non-financial report, etc.) and ratings~crlf~##Support the development, planning and execution of climate-related projects, processes, partnerships and/or events~crlf~##Work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders~crlf~##Support the team with administrative and organizational tasks~crlf~
Qualifications: ~crlf~##You are currently working towards a university degree (master, PhD) in finance, management, sustainability, economics, business administration, political sciences, environmental sciences, environmental engineering and/or any other related field ~crlf~##Previous knowledge and/or a strong interest in climate-related topics (e.g. climate disclosure, sustainable finance regulation, climate-aligned portfolio strategy, etc.)~crlf~##Ideally you have already gained first practical experience in the fields of climate change, sustainability, project management, investment, insurance, consulting and/or communications~crlf~##Strong data management and analytical skills~crlf~##Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) ~crlf~##IT and programming skills: knowledge on VBA, R, Python or other programming languages is a plus ~crlf~##Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required; German or another European language an asset~crlf~~crlf~ ~crlf~Experience & Key Skills:~crlf~##Strong ability to think and act independently and to quickly adapt to new problem settings and situations~crlf~##Strong ability to formulate and solve problems~crlf~##Ability to work on separate work-streams at the same time~crlf~##Proactive, flexible and energetic team players with a strong personal interest in sustainability issues, environmental problems and societal concerns ~crlf~##Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to drive several projects at once~crlf~ ~crlf~Additional skillsets can be an asset:~crlf~##Ability to write good stories and articles to promote more of our work~crlf~##Ability to work in remote working settings~crlf~
