Senior Claims Expert (m/f/d) at Allianz SE Reinsurance (RoW ex APAC) – location Munich / Zurich / Dublin
The principle purpose of the job is to actively handle and drive solution orientated activity on individual losses, loss complexes / events, and at a portfolio level.~crlf~Provide coverage analysis, advice and claims ´learnings´ feedback to stakeholders (principally Client Management, Underwriting, and Finance) across AZ Re.~crlf~For strategically supported business segments to guide and support OE´s with efficient, leveraged technical advice and experience to enable upper quartile claims service to underlying clients.~crlf~To develop technical claims management skills of less experienced staff through ´shadowing´, workshops, or training scenarios~crlf~To engage with Group (Global P&C) and the OE community on topics of common interest to improve the technical effectiveness and efficiencies of claims management and to generate appropriate financial and operational improvements.~crlf~The role requires pro-active information sharing and expectation management of all concerned parties in the claims process.~crlf~The role also includes a fair amount of project management specifically related to supporting strategic business initiatives and portfolio management operating metrics.~crlf~To identify, prepare, and carry out claims review targets on both OE and external cedant accounts with the focus on knowledge sharing, relationship building, and building portfolio awareness (technical and operational) to feed back into the Underwriting review process.~crlf~To support change through collaboration in order to respond to fast changing business requirements; and to strengthen collaboration across Allianz entities.
##Active Claims handling, i.e. management of claims with a significant impact to AZ Re (either due to complexity, strategic relevance, or value)~crlf~##Actively lead clients in technical analysis (coverage & legal liability), reserving, and resolution strategy leveraging best practice experience~crlf~##To act as a referral point in assessing technical and strategic claims handling issues and to own certain strategic topics in terms of driving activity and communication~crlf~##Manage claims of selected portfolios autonomously~crlf~##Lead Topic Consultant for the monitoring of industry circumstances, events, and themes to provide intelligent, consultative feedback on scale and value at risk to internal stakeholders~crlf~##Significant experience in project management and on-site reviews ~crlf~##Active / Lead support for Best Practice standards for claims management and CAT scenarios (natural and man-made events)~crlf~##Active support and engagement in targeting and executing upon Group Subrogation opportunities and other avenues of recovery or minimizing claims indemnity spend ~crlf~##Develop intelligent portfolio steering tools and scorecards for responsible claims portfolio ~crlf~
##Law degree or similar professional background (insurance industry specific accreditation)~crlf~##5-10+ years in claims management with an insurance or reinsurance carrier~crlf~##Excellent knowledge of (re)insurance principles, types of coverage, and program construction~crlf~##Excellent knowledge in claims handling strategy including management of external service providers (engineers / adjusters / lawyers) and experience with litigation / mediation / alternative dispute resolution~crlf~##Excellent understanding of wordings, exclusions and conditions ~crlf~##Excellent understanding of P&C lines of business ~crlf~##Excellent understanding of at least one specialty LoB (eg Agriculture or Credit and Bond)~crlf~##Knowledge of run-off strategies would be an advantage including but not limited to identification of commutation targets ~crlf~##Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office (XL, PP etc.)~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~##Ability to understand IT requirements and priorities requests to support activities / key responsibilities~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~##Excellent project management experience and coordinating skills for Group Claims Projects~crlf~~crlf~##Deep understanding of the (re)insurance industry, customs and practice~crlf~##Language Skills – Fluency in English (oral & written). Additional European language a plus, preferably French or Spanish ~crlf~
