Business Development Manager, Broker
We are searching for a business development manager to join our team, to drive distribution strategy for the entity. The incumbent will report to the Head of Broker Channel of the new Singapore Entity and will be responsible for the insurance distribution in the local and international Broker space. The incumbent will be involved in the business setup of the new Singapore entity which include securing new partnerships agreements and designing market entry strategy. After the launch, this role is required to build partners’ relationship and drive sales performance to ensure that the company’s targets are met.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase premium volume, meet short and long term underwriting production and profit goals.~crlf~• Design and implement business development plans~crlf~• Interpret and analyse financial reports/ data~crlf~• Maintain liaison with partners to obtain necessary underwriting information and provide service excellence.~crlf~• Assess new application and its risks within established underwriting guidelines and to prepare submission for higher review where applicable~crlf~• Keeping informed of new developments in industry activities and competitive practices and integrate learning into the product and business plan~crlf~• Regular review and monitor Partners’ portfolio in terms of growth and profitability~crlf~• Good understanding of LOB products and portfolio~crlf~• Possess good understanding of applicable legal and regulatory framework~crlf~
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in CGI, BCP, PGI, CommGI, HI~crlf~• Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in general insurance distribution. Experience in underwriting is preferred. ~crlf~• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and negotiate terms effectively~crlf~• Strong financial / analytical skills and excellent problem solving / decision-making abilities~crlf~• Experience in chairing clients’ meetings and excellent presentation skills~crlf~• Proficiency in Microsoft words, excel, power-point~crlf~
