Senior Claims Specialist - Temporary
Proactively investigate, negotiate, and resolve medium to high exposure E&O (Architects & Engineers Liability, Single Project Professional Indemnity, Construction Professional Indemnity, Miscellaneous E&O) claims, involving complex issues and/or litigation. Responsible for in-house claims adjusting.~crlf~Ensure claims handled within authority limits and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines.~crlf~Drive third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers.~crlf~Technical referral point for underwriters and internal business partners. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.~crlf~Effective working within the global matrix.
##Claims Processing and Administration:~crlf~Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems and in line with AGCS North America Claims Handling Guidelines. ~crlf~Timely reporting to internal business partners on claims with significant potential and or issues. ~crlf~##Investigation and Reserving of Claims:~crlf~Investigate high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues and/or litigation - requires legal analysis~crlf~Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels. Drafting coverage position letters and reservation of rights letters as needed.~crlf~Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. lawyers and loss adjusters)~crlf~##Settlement:~crlf~Negotiate and resolve high exposure, complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions~crlf~Drive effective subrogation processes~crlf~##Referrals and Compliance:~crlf~Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines~crlf~Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate~crlf~Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters~crlf~~crlf~##Market Management:~crlf~Proactively support underwriting and market management partners in the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker meetings where necessary)~crlf~Attend industry functions.~crlf~##Relationship Management:~crlf~Positively represent AGCS externally to the market~crlf~Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters)~crlf~Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally~crlf~
##Bachelor Degree: Bachelor's degree in law, commerce, engineering, or other relevant discipline. ~crlf~##Bachelor Degree: Completion of LL.B. or JD preferred but not required. ~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Considerable experience handling Design Professionals (Architects, Engineers, Construction managers) E&O claims involving complex coverage, liability and damages issues.~crlf~##Ideal experience, though not required: Experience handling Miscellaneous E&O, Cyber & D&O claims. ~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Experience attending mediations and leading the charge on strategy and settlement discussions.~crlf~##Minimum 3 to 5 years: IT skills (Office applications): Use general office application tools e.g. Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook~crlf~##Minimum 1 to 3 years: Experience working in complex, global matrix organization ~crlf~~crlf~##Products and Coverages: Expert understanding in E&O and specifically Design Professionals' insurance products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages - specifically in relation to complex claims~crlf~##Claims Handling: Expert knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery. ~crlf~##Reserving: Expert knowledge of reserving principles and practices~crlf~##Drafting: Expert knowledge and experience drafting coverage position letters and reservation of rights letters.~crlf~##Litigation: Robust understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation)~crlf~##Advanced: Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex data from multiple sources in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire~crlf~##Advanced: Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate with confidence the best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties ~crlf~~crlf~
