Practice Leader-Inland Marine
## Responsible for the underwriting results in defined line of business for the Region (Americas); including setting underwriting authority, managing underwriters in a matrix environment, providing underwriting direction and support, as well acting as referral manager for business that exceeds local underwriting authority.
##Underwriting Support: 1.) Serve as a resource to CUO, AGCS head office, NA Marine Executive, and NA Inland underwriting staff. 2.) Serve as a resource to the regions underwriting staff; underwriting large/complex risk referrals for the regions. 3.) Identify, develop and implement underwriting policy, procedural and program changes in accordance with the underwriting strategies and regulatory environment. 4.) Ensure appropriate training programs are implemented and maintained to develop the level of underwriting needed in concert with CUO and the Marine Executive. 4.) Facilitate underwriting Referral mechanisms. 5.) Facilitate APT maintenance and evolution in collaboration with CUO, Portfolio Steering, Portfolio Management, Marine Executive, and Product Leaders. ~crlf~##Product Development: 1.) Coordinates, manage, and execute on rate, form, and filing requirements for existing and new products. Serve as subject matter expert in this area. 2.) Gathers information on completive trends, product line trends, producer trends and external environment, including legal, economic, demographic, and distribution trends.~crlf~##Product Management: 1.) Monitor product results and develop proposals to maximize profitability, including the review of claims: attritional, large, and CAT trends.~crlf~~crlf~
##Bachelor’s Degree~crlf~## Significant experience (minimum of c.5 years) in Underwriting management position in relevant line of business ~crlf~## Demonstrable track record of growing portfolio profitably in hard and soft markets ~crlf~## Successful track record of leadership of direct teams and complex matrix environments ~crlf~## Experience of working internationally ~crlf~## Experience of remotely managing and developing teams across numerous locations ~crlf~## Knowledge of the insurance industry, intermediary operations, insurance laws and general business operations. ~crlf~## Skills to develop and deliver training programs to AGCS staff, agents and clients. ~crlf~## Portfolio Management including analysis of actuarial tables, trend analysis, CAT aggregates, etc. ~crlf~## Demonstrable track record of growing portfolio profitably in hard and soft markets ~crlf~## Comprehensive knowledge of competition and marketing conditions. ~crlf~## In-depth knowledge of AGCS and competitor marketing, sales, and UW strategies for assigned LoB. ~crlf~## Technical knowledge of LoB. ~crlf~## Excellent communication and human relation skills to work with intermediary, regulatory agencies, underwriters and underwriting management. ~crlf~## Skills to develop and deliver training programs to AGCS staff, agents and clients. ~crlf~## Portfolio Management including analysis of actuarial tables, trend analysis, CAT aggregates, etc. ~crlf~~crlf~
