Based in Paris you will provide legal and compliance support to all AGCS Operating Entities in the Mediterranean Region for all legal topics (except HR and Tax) in close coordination with AGCS Global Legal / Compliance.
##Provide legal support of the underwriting area (all lines of business) with a focus on insurance contract laws (incl. drafting and review of clauses and standard policy wordings)~crlf~##Provide legal support of all other departments, as required, to include contract negotiation and general commercial law issues including 3rd parties contracts involving IT and general service contracts and data requirements (GDPR) and NDAs; provide support for corporate matters as directed~crlf~##Participate in work groups within legal or technical committees of specialized organizations (FFA, Assuratome, Assurpol, etc.): drafting contracts, discussion on insurance transverse topics~crlf~##Build up in-house knowledge on insurance and general contract law and share across the business including broker delegated authorities and broker remuneration, Insurance Distribution Directive, etc.~crlf~##Contribute to legal and regulatory change monitoring in the Mediterranean Region in a risk-based manner in line with regulatory & AGCS internal requirements and related organizational adjustments~crlf~##Provide support for regulatory matters as directed~crlf~##Participate in the Global Practice Group activities on Economic sanctions as a legal expert~crlf~##Provide training and sign offs as a second level support of the Global team~crlf~##Assist in day to day queries from underwriting and claims relating to licensing~crlf~##Provide ad hoc compliance support for designated activities of Compliance Med Region~crlf~##Coordinate the use of external law firms and reduce the amount of fees spent on those mandates while increasing or maintaining the level of quality~crlf~
##You will have 5 to 7 years’ experience working experience in an international law office or working experience in a Legal and Compliance department in the insurance industry (basic requirement)~crlf~##Able to build and maintain relationship across various lines of business and with external cooperation partners across the Med Region~crlf~##Strong legal background is desired. It is essential to have a strong appreciation of risks and controls applicable to insurance business and ideally a good understanding of large risks insurance~crlf~##Negotiation skills and excellent drafting skills are necessary~crlf~##You will be familiar with applicable legal and compliance regime of French-based insurance undertaking~crlf~##You will be able to take initiative and resolve problems with a high degree of autonomy~crlf~##You will have excellent communication skills and practical training experience~crlf~##You will have strong business acumen and client service mentality~crlf~##You will be able to accept responsibility for a wide range of diverse tasks and activities across a broad range, producing coherent decisions and results~crlf~##You will have previous experience in a global functional matrix environment~crlf~##Total fluency in French and English is a pre-requisite, Spanish or Dutch is a plus~crlf~
