We are looking for a Senior Claims Handler (m/f/d), based in Wallisellen near Zurich.

The Impact You Will Have 

Reporting to the Claims Team Leader in Siwtzerland and Teamleader for Liability and Financial Lines in Germany (Matrix), you will work closely with the German and Swiss claims teams as well as global colleagues. Your responsibilities will include proactively handling of national and international Liability and Financial Lines claims from our industrial clients, creating, and maintaining peer level relationships with brokers and collaborating with other departments to ensure a high-quality claims experience. You will manage a portfolio of clients and be the main entry point for all their claims. At the same time you are working in close collaboration with your colleagues to manage the portfolio as a whole.    

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

• Handling of national and international Liability and Financiaal Lines claims of industrial customers, ensuring cost effective, service-oriented solutions. 
• Actively evaluate and address coverage and liability issues, determine appropriate reserving levels and manage litigation if appropriate and necessary. 
• Manage relationships with clients, brokers, and loss adjusters. 
• Ensure accurate and timely internal and external loss reporting. 
• Work with other teams such as Underwriting and Operations and contribute with your claims handling expertise. 
• Support the development of the claims strategy to ensure profitable growth and a strong market position. 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

• You have professional experience in claims handling, ideally with a focus on all casualty lines (Liability and/or Financial Lines). 
• You have a professional qualification in insurance with professional experience or a degree in a topic related to insurance, a law degree (lic. iur. or LLM)  is welcome. 
• You have a good knowledge of insurance, contract and liability law. 
• You speak fluent German and English at a business level. Basic knowledge in a third language is welcome as well. 
• You are a collaborative and positive team player with excellent communication skills.
