Job Purpose/Role 

Are you interested in joining our adventure by becoming our new Global Practice Group Lead Power based in Munich, London or Madrid?


The role is meant to transfer Global LoB strategy into Global Practice Group strategy, further develop and execute Global LoB PG strategy in accordance with Global LoB Head, steer and manage the PG portfolio to ensure target achievement in collaboration with Global Business Analysis. You will build functional LoB PG team and delegate UW Authorities to the Regions in accordance with Global & Regional LoB Heads, Global PG coordination and representation. The support of the AGCS UW Academy by developing PG specific content, drive and monitor adherence to a PG specific UW governance framework and risk appetite in cooperation with CUO Global Business Analysis is also an important part of this role.



In this role you will…


•    Transfer Global LoB strategy into Global PG strategy, refine and implement global PG strategy
•    Build, develop and retain respective Global PG team in cooperation with Regional LoB Head; develop Property PG specific content to support the respective LoB AGCS UW Academy trainings
•    Be responsible for PG specific corporate underwriting: business appetite definition, authority proposal, implementation of UW framework, ensure adherence to UW framework in close cooperation with CUO Global Business Analysis (i.e. Global Process Coordination)
•    Have the CUO LoB referral responsibility for respective PG
•    Drive and facilitate PG specific internal and external communication in close cooperation with all relevant parties
•    Facilitate regular regional exchanges between the Regions with regards to the respective PG; build, facilitate and multiply PG specific knowledge within all Regions
•    Make suggestions with regards to PG specific pricing, tools, processes and organizational matters
•    Drive product development/product enhancements for PG including cross LoB products, identify market/clients needs and trends
•    Ensure global product roll-out for PG

To be successful in the role:


You will have…


•    Preferably Degree in Engineer, Business Administration, Economics, or comparable discipline as well as completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII)
•    Experience in underwriting of international industrial insurance and/or Reinsurance within Property (Energy/Power related)
•    Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and (natural) hazards relevant to Property
•    Proven success in managing the underwriting books, monitor appropriate investments and allocate funds accordingly, analyze trends and scenario plans
•    Experience in designing, developing and implementing consistent, robust wordings
•    Strong pricing skills: analyze current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance
•    Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
•    Ability to develop, implement and communicate strategies to address important trends or changes in the business
•    Proven success in expressing ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally, Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story
•    Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties
•    Successful track record of leadership of direct teams or complex matrix environments
•    Experience of working internationally with strong ability for cross border adaptation
