Job Purpose/Role 


The role is meant to analyse and manage Global LoB portfolio and ensure KPI reporting, execute LoB Planning and budgeting coordination, steering, monitoring and Nat Cat controlling (if applicable). Develop and implement efficient and compliant workflow processes around CUOS steering globally eg. cross sell initiatives. Research Marine market trends and identify areas of opportunities for growth in different regions and product segments. Support the Global Head of Marine on initiatives, projects, functional processes and underwriting governance.    




In this role you will…

•    Represent Marine as required in AGCS and Allianz working groups and reporting / governance frameworks (e.g.. Global task transfer, Claims coordination desk, Loss Leader report etc.)
•    Point of contact on all reporting requirements
•    Create and provide input into comprehensive documentation through research, including reports, briefings and complex presentations for Board meetings and Underwriting Committee meetings
•    Support global development and implementation of Line Size, Budget, Deductible, Limits and minimum premium strategy for the LoB (quantitative part)
•    Support Strategic Analyst in development and implementation of the global Marine strategy & business development in line with CUOS and in collaboration with Global LoB Heads, Regional Underwriters, Market Management and cross divisional interfaces
•    Proactively advise and support stakeholders with strategic and operational aspects
•    Deliver analysis / consultancy on projects and initiatives including digital distribution e.g.. visicover
•    Take Ownership of developing new ideas to support business growth across all regions and sub classes
•    Structure, format and design presentations
•    Research information on competitive trends, product line trends, producer trends and external environment, including legal, economic, demographic and distribution trends
•    Assist Market Management and regional Underwriting teams on marketing initiatives
•    Recommend new and revised products, distribution channels and procedures, and provide guidance to Global LoB Head
•    Monitor product result and develops proposals to maximize profitability, including the review of claims/large losses/trends    

To be successful in the role:


You will have…
•    Bachelor Degree: Preferably a degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline    
•    Significant experience in P&C insurance (ideally Marine). Specialized expert understanding of multiple sub-LoB products and portfolio    
•    Proven track record in Underwriting profitable business in LoB with c. 10+ years' experience. In depth expert understanding of LoB products and portfolio    
•    Experience of working internationally with good ability for cross border adaption    
•    Strong analytical, numerical and adaptive problem-solving skills, using logical and methodological approach    
•    Multi-task profile with focus on effective use of own resources and handling of competing priorities under tight deadlines.            
•    Knowledge of the insurance industry, intermediary operations, insurance laws and general business operations.    
•    Analytical Thinking and Numeracy: Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex (e.g. ambiguous, from various sources) data and processes to rapidly distil key issues and provide insight in various situations.
•    Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.  Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story        
•    Project management skills: Ability to manage projects (milestone and task planning, managing resources, project controlling, monitoring, and reporting, moderation techniques) and to develop solutions while considering complex stakeholder structures and requirements.        
•    Fluent English skills

•    Strategic Planning skills: Ability to develop, implement and communicate strategies to address important trends or changes in the business
