Job Purpose/Role 


The Lead Designer manages the ongoing basis and design of the AGCS IT application or infrastructure landscape for a given area of responsibility in order to deliver an integrated solution and standardized approach. This role is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of CUBE Corporate applications.




In this role you will…


•    Analyze the business requirements and processes within AGCS to support the development of Functional and Technical specifications, including IT infrastructure for business applications, interfaces and infrastructure. For Java based applications the candidate has to balance and prioritize the requirements, be able to understand the dependencies and the drive the design.     
•    Continuously share best practices and approaches across teams, offering support when required. Cooperate with other AGCS delivery teams to ensure interoperability of solutions. Jointly responsible to ensure no losses to business functions or transaction processing due to the non-availability or poor performance of systems and applications
•    Proactively conduct ad-hoc as well as regular analysis on IT systems, documentation, processes, data, etc.. to decrease dependencies on other systems and improve coding quality as well as the performance of the applications
•    Develop concepts and solutions for critical applications/systems/etc
•    Conducts analysis on whether IT policies/standards are being followed
•    Follow up and apply in cases where necessary
•    Report to IT management on results
•    Develop and positively influence key, strategic position stakeholders across locations and functions. Monitor realization of concepts and act as escalation instance. Manage the workstream delivery of 3rd party service providers.
•    Conduct analysis on whether IT policies/standards are being followed, follow up and apply in cases where necessary. Report to IT management on results. Implementation of Group initiatives, standards, policies and evolve the services provided.    

To be successful in the role:


You will have….
•    University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    5+ years of IT experience with n-tier, database and client server design / development
•    3+ years’ experience in design and implementation of PRPC-based solutions
•    Proven implementation experience in integration of PEGA in existing / legacy application landscape    
•    Professional IT qualifications (i.e., ITIL, OpEx, Scrum, DevOps)        
•    Professional IT qualification: PEGA certification as a Lead System Architect is a must    
•    Strong knowledge in PEGA PRPC Version 8.X 
•    Technical design skills
•    Expertise and good understanding of Relational Database Management Systems including architecting and designing for performance and scalability
•    Experience in J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java) and Servlet or Enterprise containers (tomcat, BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere, JBOSS are assets
•    Ability to develop, implement, and communicate technical desicions, functional and non-functional requirements and understand both business and associated technical requirements  
•    Experienced in peer review processes for software design and development.
•    Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills to be able to work together with the Enterprise Architect / Lead System Architect and the team    
•    Solid fundamentals in Java or any other object-oriented languages    
•    Fluent English skills                    


Ideally you will also have…


•    Experience in client-side technologies like HTML, Java Script
•    Good German skills
