PIMCO Prime Real Estate Investment Planning and Controlling (IPC) team is part of the Finance department and in charge of managing property companies, real estate funds, JVs and intermediate holding vehicles. Core functions involve the monitoring and reporting of investment performance, the calculation of market values and the preparation of financial planning.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Company and Capital Management

  • Analyze financial performance of Allianz’ real estate participations in funds, joint ventures and (intermediate) investment structures during the whole investment life-cycle (buy-manage-sell)
  • Active role in the company management of Allianz’ real estate participations
  • Review and validate investor reporting (e.g. financial statements according to IFRS/local GAAP, INREV reporting, NAV measurement, performance reporting)
  • Support in the acquisition phase of new investments (e.g., setup of a new investment within the PPRE accounting & reporting landscape)
  • Steer and monitor external services providers (e.g. auditors, tax advisors, external accountants)
  • Be the interface to internal and external asset- and investment management, external fund managers and accounting

Financial Planning, Controlling & Reporting

  • Collect and upload investment data into the PPRE data warehouse and validate the numbers (e.g. KPIs, NAV development)
  • Calculated entity fair market values in accordance with the ‘Adjusted NAV’ method
  • Prepare investment plans and forecasts for funds joint ventures and investment structures
  • Present financial performance reports (incl. Plan-Actual comparison) to Allianz stakeholders

 

Business development

  • Take initiative in the maintenance and improvement of existing controlling tools, support in the development and implementation of new controlling tools, methods and procedures

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

  • A successfully completed university degree, ideally with a focus on finance, accounting or controlling
  • Initial professional experience in a similar position, for example at an auditing firm, with an investment manager, a fund manager or an administrator; experience in the real estate asset class is an advantage but not essential
  • Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and/or HGB, as well as good skills in Excel, data management and reporting interfaces
  • A solution-oriented and positive mindset, as well as initiative
  • Fluency in English and very good German skills are required
