Job Purpose/ Role

Reporting to Head of Financial Reporting & Treasury, you will support in managing timely and quality deliverables of financial reporting to authorities, close monitoring of investment portfolio and ensuring compliance to investment guidelines & mandates in alignment to Group policies. You will be involved with implementing Branch’s IFRS17 processes and controls, drive simplification of processes and automation projects.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Involved in financial reporting and treasury topics, ensure adherence to relevant regulations, accounting standards, investment guidelines & mandates.
  • Manage and monitor the accounting activities during monthly and annual closings, ensure adherence to both internal and external timeline and deliverables.
  • Ensure timely and quality deliverables for regulatory, statutory and tax reporting, prompt execution of banking and investment transactions in compliance to guidelines and mandates.
  • Work on implementing Branch’s IFRS17 processes and controls, drive simplification of processes and automation projects.
  • Supporting CFO on management reporting and performing analysis on differences between internal and external reporting for business information needs and assisting strategic projects.
  • Active collaboration and interaction with management and both internal and external stakeholders
  • Complete ad-hoc requests and projects, as assigned.

 
Experience & Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting and/or relevant professional qualifications.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of accounting and reporting experience gained from (re)insurance company or audit of (re)insurance company in Singapore.  Working experience in a multinational company with a matrix reporting structure would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in reporting under ACRA, MAS, IRAS and other regulatory requirements in Singapore.
  • Sound technical competencies in IFRS standards, in particular, exposure to IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
  • Good knowledge of the business and capable of critically analyzing numbers and drawing out relevant conclusions.
  • High standards of accuracy and precision, highly organized.
  • Delivery orientated focus, with good aptitude in decision-making, problem-solving and strategic agility.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion and to develop effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Preferably experience with SAP financial accounting system and data analytics.
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered for the position of Accountant.
