We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Private Markets Operations Specialist (f/m/d) in the field of Alternative investments to focus on Cash Management Support. This position is based in our Luxembourg office.

 

In this role you will primarily be in charge of supporting the cash management activities of the Investment area, including handling tasks in relation to credit facilities/subscription lines, executing payments for fund expenses etc. next to other specific tasks related to Fund Accounting, Custody and Depositary Oversight for Private Markets. You will join an experienced team of subject matter experts, liaising with colleagues in an international environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Run cash management support activities for various fund structures with a focus on credit facilities and various types of payments
  • Drive the onboarding process of new products from the operational side
  • Establish standard methodologies for alternative investment funds with a focus on time to market and standardization for custody/depositary and fund administration oversight
  • Be the responsible party for operational day-to-day activities e.g. NAV oversight, invoices, distributions, draw downs, regulatory reporting as well as query management
  • Run and maintain processes, procedures and related operating memorandum/service level agreements
  • Review quarterly/monthly trial balances and underlying data
  • Monitor subscription tax and VAT declarations in comparison with accounting data
  • Supervise the service provider (Fund Accounting/Depositary/Custody) performance with a strong focus on critical metrics and improvement of operational stability
  • Collaborate with investment manager teams, other members of the Private Markets Operations department and other internal/external interfaces (e.g. Tax, Legal)
  • Apply a proactive partner management between the service providers and the internal teams (e.g. management of critical issues)
  • Improve and harmonize the alternative investment operating model for fund accounting and custody/depositary on a global scale


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience:

 

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field of study
  • Ideally 4+ years of working experience in the asset management industry (i.e. ManCo, AIFM,Service provider) with particular emphasis on cash management support, fund accounting, financial/regulatory reporting and custody/depositary (oversight)
  • Very good knowledge and experience in cash management support, including handling of credit facilities for Private Markets Funds (or similar activities for non-Private Markets Funds), oversight and execution of various payment types for Private Markets Funds, interactions with Investment professionals and Portfolio Managers regarding cash management support
  • Good knowledge of Alternatives Funds and investment strategies like Infrastructure Equity/Debt, PE, RE, FoF, Renewables
  • Strong ambition to automate and optimize processes
  • Experience in regulated and unregulated vehicles, like SIF, RAIF, SCSp, LP (additional special knowledge on German vehicles such as InvKG would be a plus)
  • Knowledge of LUX GAAP and IFRS, German GAAP and UK GAAP would be a plus
  • Knowledge of the regulatory/tax requirements and financing structures is a plus
  • Ideally a sound understanding of the investment lifecycle for Private Markets fund structures
  • Technical skills in terms of programming/automating are a significant value
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the dedication to build positive relationships, internally and externally
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and keen attention to detail
  • High motivation to independently develop creative and targeted solutions

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English, knowledge of German would be an asset
