Job Purpose/Role

 

Based in Milan and reporting directly to the Head of Financial Lines of Mediterranean & Africa Region, you will be in charge of supporting the strategy analyze the business for the Financial Lines line of business within the Region. With strong ties to the Regional Head of Financial Lines and relevant Practice Group Leaders and senior underwriters, you will also support the FL global and country strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the AGCS targets. You will be contact person for internal stakeholders working with the Financial Lines team, jointly with the Distribution team, also outside Italy with close contact with the other countries of the Mediterranean & Africa Region.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze & manage Regional LoB portfolio and ensure KPI reporting
  • Coordination of Regional LoB Business Analysis
  • Regional LoB reviews with Finance
  • Support Global BA implementing Global requirements/Projects
  • Support Global Portfolio Management with local support
  • Qualitative analysis, management of Regional LoB portfolio incl. profitability analysis (e. g. trades, distribution channels etc.) and Regional KPI reporting
  • Prepare and coordinate Regional LoB reviews with Finance in cooperation with Regional LoB Head, CUO and Global BA
  • Support analysis of Local OEs treaty reinsurance in cooperation with Global BA and Regional LoB Head
  • Prepare & Analyze Regional cost reporting and participate in expense management
  • Coordinate planning & budgeting, steering, and monitoring for the Region
  • Conduct analysis of the Regional LoB Portfolio in close cooperation with the Regional LoB Head and Regional practice group leaders
  • Conduct analysis of trends within LoB area
  • Manage and support technical pricing including reporting in cooperation with Global Portfolio team
  • Regional LoB Planning and budgeting coordination, steering, monitoring
  • Support / drive development/refinement of LOB’s strategic underwriting approach through quantitative data analysis
  • Support LoB Regional PCs and Global BA in the identification of growth opportunities and steering of portfolio
  • Monitor market performance & accumulation control; Build up and maintain data pool
  • Support Regional LoB Head in transferring global into regional LoB strategy, UW policy and all other relevant issues concerning LoB in cooperation with Global BA
  • Coordinate and manage Regional premium and cost planning in cooperation with Regional LoB Head and Global BA
  • Represent AGCS internally in the Group and Regional Clients
  • Drive involvement of functional areas in planning process and reporting across the Region
  • Actively support LoB specific projects and task forces - Participate in strategic Regional / Global LoB projects and initiatives by providing support and/or coordinating activities (as needed)
  • Act as a hub for the region to collect information and guide process for other countries
  • Coordinate with CUO to ensure Global consistencies

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

  • Master's degree in Business
  • Experience in underwriting profitable Financial Lines business for corporate clients
  • Consolidated experience in pure Financial Lines business
  • Proven successful leadership skills / virtual deal team approach
  • Expertise in risk assessment
  • Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills
  • Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong communication skills and open cultural mindset to work with different countries of the Region
  • Able to work in an international matrix organization
  • Strong Excel capabilities
  • Italian and English (ideally French too)
