JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

The position holder is reporting to Allianz SE in Munich (Germany) but is located in Milan (Italy).

The Auditor acts as accepted advisor to the business within depth knowledge auditing investment topics. The role is about to advise managers and their departments and add value to the business by identifying business risks at an early stage and helping them to improve the internal control framework. In addition to providing the audit results to auditees, the Auditor also proposes recommendations to close findings, writes audit reports, supports closing meetings and checks - in the follow-up process - if the recommendations were implemented. The Auditor participates as a specialist in audits, in cooperation with the team and aligned with the Audit Practice Head. 

Strong technical and ethical characteristics are fundamental to audit success. Independent from the job level, an Auditor should maintain appropriate technical skills as well as agility and a commitment to continuous learning. The ability to see the big picture is important for each audit. Good auditors therefore focus on targeted questions which allow them to verify information from different angles.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform risk assessments and develop risk-oriented audit programs
  • Define risk-based audit areas, business transactions, investment value chain related processes and control systems
  • Determine deficiencies and vulnerabilities to be remedied, analyze, and generate feasible recommendations for improvement of organizations and processes
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders from all hierarchy levels with respect to deficiencies and recommendations for remediation
  • Create and develop conceptual audit ideas
  • Follow-up of audit recommendations and communication with responsible parties
  • Manage relationship with local audit departments in the Group 

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

 

  • Strong academic background (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Quantitative Methods)
  • CFA, FRM, Actuary a plus
  • Fluent in English; fluent in German, Italian or French a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in the Financial Service Industry (Investment and/or Asset Management, Banking) in investment/finance related topics, or in internal or external audit or as a consultant
  • Capacity to quickly comprehend, analyze, challenge and make recommendations
  • Strong resilience and ability to work under pressure
  • Problem solving and can-Do attitude ("out-of-the box thinking")
  • Ability to adequately express (verbally and in writing) and to accept criticism
  • Ability to work in flexible teams, team spirit, high self-motivation and a proactive & cooperative working style, as well as intercultural competencies in a global work environment 
  • Readiness to travel
