Allianz Research is the economic research network within Allianz with locations in several countries. We plan, direct and carry out macroeconomic, capital market and thematic research, including providing economic and strategic advice to all relevant entities within Allianz. Our services range from short-term analysis and macroeconomic forecasts to analyzing long-term trends and developments, with a focus on implications for the insurance industry. In coordination with internal stakeholders, we project the position of Allianz Group on current economic affairs and policy debate. As Senior Economist you will be responsible for the macroeconomic surveillance and risk analysis of several countries and capital markets surveillance as needed. You will also be expected to generate high-quality research within your area of responsibility and communicate your findings effectively to internal and external audiences with impact and purpose. You will interact with our research hubs extensively.




  • Primary country coverage of several Southern European economies (with a focus on Italy)
  • Cross-country responsibility in sectoral work (fiscal, monetary, external, structural) and capital market topics
  • Client outreach  with a focus on Italy
  • Coordination of request from Allianz entities as well as media and external stakeholders




  • PhD/Master's degree in economics or related field of study
  • 5 – 10 years of relevant professional experience in economic research
  • Proven track record of completing high-quality and impactful research on macroeconomic issues and risk analysis
  • Advanced data analysis and IT skills (including economic data providers and standard econometric software)
  • Fluency in English and Italian (written and spoken), German, French and/or Spanish language proficiency desirable but not essential
  • Very strong analytical writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to self-organize and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Strong team player with entrepreneurial spirit
