As Allianz Group, we are taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Our ambitious new commitment for our own operations is to reduce GHG emissions arising from Allianz sites and activities in over 70 markets to -70% by 2030. 


Allianz has established a dedicated unit – Group Sustainable Operations - to align the strategic approach across all Allianz entities, with the aim to reduce their environmental footprint and accelerate impact. The team works closely with relevant stakeholders, departments and Allianz entities worldwide to ensure the achievement of Allianz net zero targets for operations and the implementation of the Group operations environmental strategy.


The Sustainability Manager will support the implementation of the strategy, the corresponding roadmap as well as the relevant corporate measures.

 

 

How can you make an impact?

 

You will:

 

  • Develop and implement sustainability programs and initiatives to reduce the environmental and carbon footprint of Allianz operations in line with Group Sustainable Operations strategy.
  • Evaluate and analyze the potential environmental impacts of new initiatives and processes. 
  • Support the Local Environment Officers in making informed decisions that improve their environmental performance and minimize negative environmental effects.
  • Actively support Allianz entities in identifying value and impact of initiatives, identify areas for improvement, specify requirements and implement recommendations to support achieving the Group ambition.
  • Collect, evaluate, and report environmental data related to GHG emissions, energy usage, water consumption, waste generation, and other relevant metrics.
  • Identify and manage environmental risks that could affect the organization's operations and reputation.
  • Prepare reports/analysis and presentations for Board level and other stakeholder groups on the environmental performance of Allianz operations against the target.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking of key trends in the industry and translate best practices into key insights.
  • Closely align with relevant departments/stakeholders within the organization, including operations areas, controlling and finance, risk, legal, tax, communication, and marketing to integrate environmental concerns into various aspects of the business.
  • Promote environmental awareness amongst employees. 

 

 

What are you made of?

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree from a university in the fields of environmental management, environmental engineering, or sustainability
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly collaboration tools and Power BI
  • Advanced skills in utilizing Excel and PowerPoint
  • Profound expertise in Environmental Reporting Tools, such as SAP, MSM, and similar platforms.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 3-5 years of work experience, preferably with a focus on sustainability, environmental management or similar
  • Capable to build collaborative working relationships and ability to work in virtual and international team set-ups
  • Profound knowledge of sustainability standards and regulations (e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SDGs, SBTi, GHG Protocol, ISO 14001/ISO 50001)
  • Hands-on working mentality, with analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as moderation and presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex environmental information in a clear and concise manner
  • Knowledge of operations processes (procurement, real estate, energy management, corporate fleet etc.)
  • Experience in environmental and sustainability reporting
  • Strong project management skills F45with proven track record in managing global complex projects with senior stakeholders
  • Developing programs and initiatives addressing energy reduction and efficiency (e.g., ISO certifications, Environmental and Energy Management Systems) and renewable energy (e.g., sustainable heating solutions) including the sourcing-process of renewable electricity (e.g., PPAs, EACs).
