Who will you be joining?
As Allianz Group, we are taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Our ambitious for our own operations is to reduce GHG emissions arising from Allianz sites and activities in over 70 markets by year-end 2029 by -65%.
Allianz has established a dedicated unit – Group Sustainable Operations - to align the strategic approach across all Allianz entities, with the aim to reduce their environmental footprint and accelerate impact. The team works closely with relevant stakeholders, departments and Allianz entities worldwide to ensure the achievement of Allianz environmental targets for operations and the implementation of the Group operations environmental strategy.
The Sustainability Manager will support the environmental reporting for Allianz Own Operations in line with CSRD requirements, the implementation of the strategy, the corresponding roadmaps and relevant corporate measures and internal communication.
How can you make an impact?
You will:
- Contribute to the Allianz Own Operations Sustainability Strategy, this includes reporting, internal steering and implementation workstreams
- Coordinate and manage milestones and the overarching achievement of the implementation workstreams
- Monitor, track and interpret Allianz Group’s environmental performance data with a strong focus on implementation and key actions such as initiatives in travel, energy procurement and IT
- Develop and prepare internal communication for Allianz operating entities
- Conduct research and benchmarking analysis of peers and translate best practices into key insights
- Actively support Allianz operating entities in identifying value and impact of initiatives, identify areas for improvement, specify requirements and implement recommendations to improve impact on Allianz Group Environmental Targets
- Develop and implement employee awareness and engagement opportunities to embed sustainability internally and making it relevant to the entire employee base
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required; German or another European language is a plus
- Strong data management and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to drive several projects at once
- Strong ability to think and act independently and to quickly adapt to new problem settings and situations
- Proactive, flexible, and energetic team player with a strong personal interest in sustainability issues such as climate change and environmental protection
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience in data analytics (e.g. PowerBI) is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- University Bachelor or Master's Degree in the field of environmental management, environmental engineering or sustainability or similar
- Deep understanding of environmental reporting and implications of regulatory requirements connected to the relevant metrics
- Knowledge of sustainability standards and regulations (e.g. CSRD, SDGs, SBTi, GHG Protocol, ISO 14001/ISO 50001, ...)
- Ability to work in virtual and international team set-ups and capable to build collaborative working relationships
- Excellent project management skills, with proven track record in managing global complex projects with senior stakeholders
- Hands-on working mentality, with analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as moderation and presentation skills
- Deep understanding of sustainability in the context of a complex international environment, ideally with specialist knowledge in environmental-related fields
- Strong business case building experience
- Insurance/investment related knowledge is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
- Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
