Job Purpose/ Role
We are looking for a P&C Senior Actuarial Expert to join our Corporate Actuarial team at Allianz Re, the Allianz Group’s global “in-house” reinsurance company based in Munich, Germany. Reporting to the Head of P&C Reserving, you would be part of a small, friendly and professional team, fully integrated with all aspects of the quarterly and annual reporting processes for IFRS, Solvency II and IFRS17


Key responsibilities

  • P&C reserving on IFRS 4, IFRS 17 and Solvency II bases for a global reinsurance company
  • Support the Chief Actuary in preparing the quarterly Reserve Committee
  • Drive process improvements for quarterly closing and embed IFRS 17 into the existing processes
  • Interaction with Allianz Group Centres, especially Group Actuarial, Planning & Controlling
  • Collaboration with certifying actuary for Asia Pacific branch
  • Communication with external auditor and regulator
  • Providing technical guidance to other team members and support their growth
  • Provide business functions with actuarial insights / build relationships with UW and client management



  • Qualified actuary of a renowned actuarial profession
  • University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field
  • Advanced command of written and spoken English is required; German is an advantage       

Experience & Key skills    

  • Significant experience in IFRS 4 and Solvency II reserving in a global P&C reinsurance environment (5+ years)
  • Good understanding of the concept of IFRS17, ideally practical experience e.g. in IFRS17 testing and/or development 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Strong MS Excel skills including advanced functionalities (VBA, PowerQuery)
  • Programming and database experience (SAS, SQL) is an advantage
  • Self-directed, organised and willing to work under time pressure when necessary
  • Team player with the ability to work independently with attention to detail
  • Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
