Who will you be joining?

 

Global P&C Pricing team contributes to driving Technical Excellence in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance and to improving the Group Insurance service result focusing on data & analytics and pricing analytics. We steer our global entities' Technical Price System and check the application of Allianz Best Practices. We collaborate with our global entities on project execution, e.g., through improvement of risk understanding, retention and conversion management, performance management and automation of the pricing process. This also includes R&D on these topics and supporting tools. We design and deliver P&C Academy courses with attendees from all over the world.
 
We are looking for a Pricing Analyst to support tariff development and portfolio management exploiting statistical and predictive advanced modelling techniques. In addition, the person will support in summarizing, designing, and communicating effectively the results to both internal and external stakeholders. This also includes strategy projects as well as reporting of pricing activities to Senior Management. All activities are aimed to develop and implement pricing improvement measures with (in)direct impact on P&C business. 

 

How can you make an impact?

 

You will:

  • Support tariff development and portfolio management exploiting statistical and predictive advanced modelling techniques to improve risk understanding and customers’ demand behaviour
  • Review technical models performed by local entities
  • Implement and enhance dashboards and business intelligence tools to support risk analysis and portfolio management
  • Run Research and Development to find new technical solutions 
  • Further develop pricing best practice approaches together with the global pricing entities
  • Summarize, design, and communicate effectively the results and next steps to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate internal Pricing Academy as trainer
  • Contribute to Technical Price Certifications

 

What are you made of?

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You have an excellent Master’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, data science, statistics, physics or an equivalent field
  • You have a keen interest in actuarial topics and P&C insurance and possess proven experience in data modelling and analysis, machine learning, or the broader field of Data Science. Prior experience in P&C pricing is a plus 
  • You have strong analytical skills and are a team player
  • Advanced knowledge of Python; PySpark, R, SQL or SAS are a plus
  • Fluent in English is required, additional languages are a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel, international experience (academic or work-related) is as plus 
  • Very good communication and intercultural skills to work in an international environment on a daily basis
  • Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A passion for identifying, structuring and solving pricing-related analytical and processual problems and translating these into actionable recommendations
  • Ability to get up to speed on complex strategic and operational topics, to consolidate and evaluate large amounts of information, identify and initiate appropriate actions to remediate issues and follow through on their remediation
  • Collaborative mindset, ability to mobilize resources across boundaries and to manage multiple objectives, deadlines and conflicting priorities   
  • Previous experience in business related functions (i.e., Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Reserving, Risk Management, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
