Who will you be joining?


Located at Allianz’ headquarters in Munich, the Economic Research department analyzes economic and financial developments as well as global trends and their potential impact on Allianz business. This includes, but is not limited to, digitalization, demographic and behavioural change, as well as climate change and environmental, social and governance considerations. 


An internship in Economic Research gives you the perfect opportunity to learn more about the structure and reality of one of the biggest financial services providers worldwide. As an intern you will be part of our team and support our analysts in preparing economic scenarios and strategic options. 


The Wealth, Insurance, Trends & ESG Research Team is looking for a fulltime intern for a 3-6-month period. 


 

How can you make an impact?

 

You will work in a diversified and challenging environment, which allows you to get actively involved in a high-performing, agile, dynamic team. Depending on your skillset and interests, your tasks may include:

  • Conduct research and support the ESG risks and opportunities analysis 
  • Assist in the preparation, data collection, aggregation and analysis of ESG-related information and data 
  • Prepare internal and external communication materials related to ESG and ratings
  • Work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the team with administrative and organizational tasks

 


What are you made of?

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You are currently working towards a university degree (master, PhD) in economics, finance, management, sustainability, business administration, and/or any other related field.
  • You have strong skills in quantitative analysis.
  • Knowledge and/or an interest in sustainable business practices, responsible investment, sustainability ratings and ESG issues are an asset.
  • Ideally, you should already have gained first practical experience in the fields of insurance, investment, sustainability, project management, consulting and/or communications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required; German or another European language are an asset.
  • Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to think and act independently, to quickly adapt to new problem settings and situations, with a focus on problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, flexible and energetic team player with a strong personal interest in sustainability issues, environmental problems and societal concerns.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work on different work-streams at the same time.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • IT and programming skills; knowledge VBA, R, Python or other programming languages is a must.
  • Good writing and story-telling skills to help promote our reports across our internal and external channels are also a plus.
