Job Purpose Role

You will be working within the Finance team supporting the Chief Actuary to develop the target actuarial data landscape, test and implement advanced data flows for the purpose of optimising the loss reserving process and forecast technical performance across the full insurance scope of AZ Direct, currently 5 different countries (Italy, Spain, Germany, Netherlands and France).

Key responsibilities:

 

  • You have the objective of supporting the optimisation of reserving & technical performance insights through fixing legacy data shortcomings and building actuarial datasets in a flexible and consistent approach.
  • Ensuring the actuarial analysis remains credible with the highest level of data quality possible and enhanced collaboration with other data consumers (pricing, claims, data).
  • Actively contribute to defining and refining the actuarial data landscape and tools, in the context of the AZ Direct company-wide data approach
  • Stay abreast of uses of data in actuarial analysis, machine-learning techniques, AI applications and proactively test new approaches for discussion with the relevant corporate actuaries

 

Qualifications/Key skills:

 

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Actuarial Science or a related field.
  • Experience in data analysis with high fluency in SQL, MS Office and PowerBI
  • Understanding of P&C insurance and interest in actuarial sciences, ideally with area of study in Actuarial sciences
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
  • Accounting knowledge is ideal
  • Solid analytical skillset
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear and precise manner to audiences from different departments and at different levels.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • High level of reliability
  • Open-minded towards new techniques and data investigation within a growing organization
  • Motivation and curiosity to dig deeper into problems
  • International working experience is a plus
