Job Purpose/Role

Group Actuarial, Planning and Controlling (GAPC) is – as part of the Finance function (H2) – the central unit of the Allianz Group providing the Holding Board and other key stakeholders with appropriate information, analyses and recommendations to steer the Group on a value based ap-proach and fulfills the role of the actuarial function. GAPC defines necessary steering instruments, processes and tools.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as controller for several Allianz operating entities (OEs)
  • Analysis of financial and business performance of the covered OEs for monthly and quarterly financial reporting, identification of key drivers, risks and opportunities
  • Identification of critical issues and pro-active solution-oriented communication
  • Oversee competitive strategy and local market dynamics
  • Provide recommendations in a transparent and visual way to senior management to enable decision-making
  • Support company-wide, cross-functional projects

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

Qualification

  • Higher education degree in finance, business administration, mathematics, engineering or other quantitative field
  • Profound knowledge of insurance industry
  • Strong analytical skills, a good grasp of quantitative methods
  • Proficiency with Excel required; good knowledge of PowerPoint and experience with SAP/ ECCS would be an advantage
  • Very good English skills (written and spoken), additional languages a plus

 

Experience & Key skills

  • Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience in financial controlling, investment, actuarial or risk, preferably in an operational unit
  • Experience in cost accounting, cost controlling, productivity management, business planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial topics for a non-finance audience
  • Highly self-driven and proactive mindset
  • Business maturity and ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Strong sense of cooperation and ability to work toward team success
  • Willingness to continuously learn and curiosity
  • Willingness to challenge oneself and counterparties to strive for continuous improvement
