We are looking for a Senior Pricing Actuary - Liability, based in London or Munich.


Your Team 
You will join the global long tail pricing team that focuses on liability (general TPL, EIL etc.), a key strategic contributor to the long term success of AGCS. We are an experienced, diverse and hardworking team where both technical and commercial skills are used to steer the business. We work closely with other departments and Underwriting in particular where our skills can really make a difference.


The Impact You Will Have 
This role is responsible for performing front-line case pricing to support profitable underwriting activities, by providing technical expertise and insights on individual account level, which will eventually flow into global portfolio steering decisions. 


Some of your specific responsibilities could include

  • Research on new rating variables though tracking market trends and developments, understanding  of underwriting consideration evolutions and collaboration with the Predictive Modeling team, thereby improving AGCS’ competitiveness
  • Carry out deep-dive profitability reviews. This will involve preparation of the data and analysis of the profitability of business (sub)segments, as required 
  • Develop and maintain pricing tools, in particular, this involves the refinement of the tools through recalibrations and the development of appropriate statistical pricing methodologies
  • Establish an excellent working relationship with the Underwriting teams to ensure their long-term support for technical pricing concepts and pricing tools 
  • Support projects which affect the use of technical pricing and promote the use of technical pricing at AGCS

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Qualified P&C Actuary with significant post qualified experience
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Experience in front line Liability case pricing strongly preferred
  • Experience in applying statistical methods in case pricing and setting up complex Monte Carlo simulations
  • Experience in the development and data-driven calibrations of pricing tools
  • Ability to work with complicated multi-national data landscape 
  • Strong computer and programming skills in, such as, SQL (or similar), VBA, R, Python… etc
  • Self-motivated / proactive with natural curiosity to ask probing questions and ensure that those questions lead to appropriate action
  • Partnering mentality with the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, management and the business areas
  • Experienced in discussing technical information to a non-technical audience 
  • Results orientated with a proven track-record of delivering on-time projects and process improvements
  • Experience of commercial lines pricing desirable, ideally large corporate and specialty lines
  • Ability to work in an international / virtual environment
  • Fluency in English and preferably in German or French
