Role Description
The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Conduct Compliance to deliver pro-active and pragmatic second line Compliance support to the regulated companies within the Allianz UK group of companies. The role will lead technical advice and policy interpretation, including horizon scanning and interpretation of new regulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the Head of Conduct Compliance in the delivery of timely and pragmatic support for regulatory engagement and interpretation of regulatory requirements.
- Supports the Conduct & Regulatory Affairs Director and Head of Conduct Compliance in the management of the FCA relationship including attending meetings with FCA, taking minutes and following up actions.
- Provides comprehensive tracking of all regulatory actions arising from regulatory engagement.
- Undertakes horizon scanning of UK regulatory publications, providing timely and relevant analysis.
- Creates Regulatory Affairs reporting for submission to the relevant AzH Committees.
- Supports the Head of Conduct Compliance in the second line compliance technical interpretation of regulatory change and technical review of regulatory market studies.
- Works with Business Partnering team to provide technical advice to the business on key matters arising, including business and regulatory driven change.
- Provides technical assessment of business incidents and breaches, with technical input working with the Business Partnering team. Supports the engagement with the Regulator on notifiable breaches.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Excellent understanding of regulation and conduct culture, current market practice and issues.
- Excellent influencing, planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to work proactively and under pressure.
- Excellent communication ability – written and oral.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Sound analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Sound pragmatic judgement recognising the commercial and marketing advantages of being a complaint and customer-focused organisation.
- Broad knowledge and experience of financial services, working within a governing function or role (general insurance compliance experience preferable)
- Experience of interpreting regulatory and legal requirements within a general insurance environment
- Previous experience of delivering on policy objectives within the first or second line of defence
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and influencing effectively.
Qualifications
- Educated to further education level or equivalent.
