Role Description
Special Services Engineer - Pressure Mechanical
We are at an exciting time within Allianz, Engineering, Construction & Power! Due to our continued success we are expanding our teams and are recruiting a Special Services Engineer - Pressure Mechanical for the UK.
The purpose of the Special Services Engineer role is to develop and maintain a profitable, fee-earning service, providing specialist surveys, technical assessments and specialist services within the Pressure Mechanical discipline including the provision of the full range of Engineering Technical Integrity Services. The Special Services Engineer develops and project manages contracts to provide solutions for our client base, ensuring compliance with our Engineering Standards, Regulation and contract law and acts as a subject matter expert in their relative field of experience and qualification.
Key Accountabilities
- Under the direction of the Special Services Engineer Team Leader, develops and maintains a commercially profitable service through project management of selected business partner(s), approved sub-contractors, or engineer surveyors, for the provision of specialist services within the relevant discipline to support our core in-service inspection clients.
- Draws up, certifies and approves procedures in line with relevant Company procedures and regulatory standards.
- Carries out surveys and performs technical audits on behalf of Special Services and Engineering Standards.
- Produces and maintains scopes of work, procedures, reports and other supporting technical documentation in accordance with the requirements of Company quality systems.
- Acts as a Company representative and provides specialist technical advice to internal and external customers.
- Carries out client presentations, internal and external technical training/awareness programmes in order to support the provision of specialist services, together with the production of marketing material.
- Provides detailed monthly accounts for the provision of selected specialist services and propositions and MI for the Special Service account and Inspection account areas.
Essential Skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of the compliance regulations: PSSR/Power or similar and/or relevant to the Pressure Mechanical specialism.
- Awareness of Inspection markets, and regulatory market.
- The ability to motivate others in a team and build team spirit
- Suitable experience, post training apprenticeship in an engineering role with practical experience of engineering solutions for relevant plant and equipment.
- Ideally an appropriate period of time in the engineering inspection field carrying out or supervision of inspection activities within a field-based environment. -
- Experience of the health and safety regulations applicable to the inspection industry, including detailed knowledge of the role of the competent person and these activities
Qualifications Internally
- Minimum of IEng
- MSOE/MIPlantE/MIET/IMeche or equivalent
Qualifications Externally
- Minimum Of CEng
This is a home based role, however, there will be regular travel to client sites throughout the UK.
