Business Support Executive to Group Financial Controller

Role Description
This role is key in driving financial transformation and delivering project outcomes within the department. The post holder will be responsible for change management, engagement management, project management, and office organisation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations, process improvements, and strategic alignment with Allianz’s overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Change Management:
- Lead and manage financial transformation initiatives within the accounting department.
- Drive the adoption of new financial systems, tools, and processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Support team members through change processes, providing training and guidance as needed.
Engagement Management:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to align on strategic objectives.
- Follow up on engagement survey results to improve engagement within the accounting department.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and open communication within the department.
Project Management:
- Lead and oversee finance-related projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timely execution and budget adherence.
- Develop project plans, set milestones, allocate resources, and manage risks effectively.
- Track project performance and report progress to the Group Financial Controller and other stakeholders.
Office Organisation:
- Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the finance department, optimising office workflows and processes.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and procurement processes for the accounting team.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Project Management: Strong skills in project planning, execution, and risk management; PMP or Prince2 certification is advantageous.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate teams through change, ensuring engagement and collaboration.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Change Management: Experience in managing change initiatives, driving adoption, and managing resistance to change.
- Organisation: Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

- Strong business acumen and a proactive approach to financial management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
- Adaptability and flexibility to manage evolving business needs.
- High levels of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (required).
- Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
