We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Associate Portfolio Manager (f/m/d). This position is based in either our Frankfurt or London office.


Given the growing importance of Impact Investing on Private Equity side, AllianzGI continues to develop and grow its Impact Investment management business. As Associate Portfolio Manager, you will work in an agile environment offering plenty of opportunities to develop technically and personally. You will join an already successful team which is implementing newer strategies to cover fund investments in developed and developing countries. Over time, there will increasingly be co-investments as part of this evolving strategy. From a thematic perspective, the team will continue to develop strategies and opportunities that include social as well as environmental themes.


Key responsibilities


  • Act as key person in managing the master database for tracking sourcing as well as follow up on deals and opportunities
  • Assist in market mapping, market analysis and deal sourcing activities
  • Help in undertaking detailed transaction due diligence, including the review and analysis of financial, legal, commercial, ESG and technical reports, and join the presentations of the transactions in front of the Investment Committee
  • Support the negotiation of investment terms and help to execute transactions in fund investments covering infrastructure and Private Equity target funds
  • Assist in the supervision of the ongoing fund operation

Fund Raising

  • Contribute to the fund strategy and to the sourcing, structuring as well as the preparation of fund documentation for newly to be implemented impact vehicles
  • Support in the preparation of marketing materials and potentially attend prospective investor meetings

Internal Interfaces

  • Support other investment functions when necessary to implement new transactions
  • Develop case studies of impact investments for the marketing and communications department


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience​​​​​​​

  • Excellent academic degree, Master's degree preferred, in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related field of study
  • First experience gained through an entry level job in carrying out investments as part of a deal/ consultant team or in a similar role, ideally more than 2 years
  • Experience in investing and in fund investments or direct private equity transactions
  • Knowledge of the Impact landscape
  • True advocate for Impact Investing and willingness to help developing the topic further
  • Familiarity with Impact Investing and with investments in developing countries is definitely a plus
  • Proficiency in English and at least one other language, German is an advantage
  • Expertise in crafting and operating financial models in Excel as well as excellent PowerPoint skills
  • Great teammate with excellent communication skills
