To strengthen our Foreign Claims department, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Claims Handler. As a Foreign Claims Manager (Material damages), you will be responsible for handling your portfolio of claims from the opening of the file to its closure. You will work closely with the Technical Coach for more complex cases. You will also contribute to the team's development by sharing your knowledge through training and continuous improvement.

Do you have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience? Check! Do you have previous experience in Motor or Foreign Claims? Check! Are you entrepreneurial, motivated, and a team player? Check! Are you customer-oriented, solution-focused, and empathetic? Check! Are you fluent in English with good knowledge of French and/or Dutch? Check! Can you communicate and make clear and effective decisions? Check!

 

We count on you for the following tasks:

 

  • Handle claims files (both your own and colleagues' files):
  • Open the claim file upon receipt.
  • Determine responsibilities and exercise recourse/recovery when necessary.
  • Set reserves, adjust and update them as the claim file evolves.
  • Independently decide whether to involve service providers (e.g., experts, inspectors, lawyers) in compliance with company rules.
  • Proactively gather claim-related data to make appropriate decisions, utilizing available sources of information.
  • Decide (within assigned competencies) whether to accept or reject the claim.
  • Settle claims based on the gathered data within company-defined deadlines.
  • Continuously inform the client, broker, and our international counterparts about the progress of the claim.
  • Communicate effectively, using modern means (emphasis on phone and email), transparently.
  • Properly and timely close the claim files.
  • Observe and contribute to a service-oriented company culture (being available and cooperative).
  • Contribute to achieving service goals.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the department.
  • Foster a positive and constructive entrepreneurial spirit within the department, driven by continuous improvement.
