The Marine Claims Adjuster will handle all standard claims types, in both lead and following capacity. In addition the Marine Claims Adjuster will:~crlf~•~crlf~Ensure claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines. ~crlf~•~crlf~Utilize third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers. ~crlf~•~crlf~Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients. Key Responsibilities

##Claims Processing and Administration: Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGCS Claims administration systems. Proactively review late/nonpayment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting / Accounts. Manage timely producti8on of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.~crlf~## Investigation and Reserving of Claims: Investigate standard claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures. Determine appropriate reserving levels. Direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters). Proactively discuss and review contentious, large and complex claims with fellow handlers and management to obtain opinions/feedback.~crlf~## Settlement: Settle standard claims through payment or denial. Negotiate to ensure efficient and competition settlements. Ensure unpursued claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines.~crlf~## Referrals and Compliance: Ensue all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines. Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate. Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers, and loss adjusters. Assist in audits of external service providers as appropriate.~crlf~## Market Management: Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives. Attend industry functions.~crlf~## Relationship Management: Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations. Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters). Report loss information internally and externally.~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~

##Bachelor’s Degree~crlf~##3 - 5 years of experience: Understanding of Marine products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge. Management of systems (e.g. Genius)~crlf~##3-5 years of experience: Understanding of regional / local Marine insurance markets and competitor landscape~crlf~##Negotiation and Conflict Management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS and the client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of involved parties~crlf~##Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex data from multiple sources in detail and identify and resolve issues before they transpire~crlf~##Communication and Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story.~crlf~##IT Skills (Office Applications): Use general office application tools e.g. Power Point, Excel, Word~crlf~~crlf~##3-5 years of experience: Established relationship building with brokers at peer group level~crlf~##Products and Coverages: Expert understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages - specifically complex Marine claims~crlf~##Claims Handling: Knowledge of Marine claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery.~crlf~##Reserving: Expert knowledge of Marine reserving principles and practices~crlf~##Litigation: Robust understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation)~crlf~~crlf~
