Storage & Virtualization Principal (m/f)
This role ensures that LV=’s infrastructure services run on robust, secure, compliant and performant platforms. The incumbent should be able to able to collaborate and influence across all the infrastructure platform teams across the business to help ensure that AZT deliver integrated solutions that are aligned to business goals and AZT strategy. ~crlf~ ~crlf~The role should also ensure that infrastructure included within projects is fit for purpose, scalable, extendable and cost effective in line with larger business and architecture strategy. It also encompasses and contributes to all business and AZT project deliverables touching LV=’s infrastructure estate.~crlf~ ~crlf~The job holder will provide technical leadership to a team of infrastructure SME’s delivering effective, reliable IT services and solutions which satisfy customer needs and priorities. The job holder must be forward thinking and pro-actively seek opportunities to improve processes in order to deliver operational efficiencies and business benefit. ~crlf~ ~crlf~They will provide leadership to subject matter experts and customers to meet and set infrastructure objectives. To be able to meet these objectives they will have strong leadership, influencing, people and motivation skills.~crlf~ ~crlf~The jobholder will have a good working knowledge of their relevant technical field.
##Work in collaboration with peers and other key stakeholders to ensure that platform solutions are aligned to strategy and meet business requirements.~crlf~##Provides technical direction to the infrastructure teams, peers and all key stakeholders.~crlf~##Be accountable for the platform infrastructure components.~crlf~##Clearly define and manage platform component roadmap and lifecycles.~crlf~##Ensure component lifecycle is clearly understood and within budget forecasts.~crlf~##Understand and help maintain the TCO of the Infrastructure platforms underpinning our services.~crlf~##Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within and across infrastructure teams~crlf~##Provide thought leadership and steering to the infrastructure teams in the development of new standards, methods and strategies.~crlf~##Work closely and support the Platform team leaders to achieve deliverables with the right technical expertise and ensure tasks are understood and tracked appropriately.~crlf~##Responsible for ensuring that maximum availability, performance and security of the services and infrastructure fully meet the business, regulatory and security requirements.~crlf~##Define, contribute and ensure compliance to company standards.~crlf~##Lead regular Principal and SME forums with clear agenda and tracked actions.~crlf~##Be technical lead and escalation for the relevant platform technologies. Provide direction to SME’s on technical issues, challenges, solutions and direction.~crlf~##Provide recommendations to the Platform Principal Forum and present agreed solutions to Management and CTO for consideration.~crlf~##Maintain up-to-date knowledge on technology trends within the financial services sector and input into IT infrastructure strategy going forward.~crlf~##Continuously develop in depth knowledge of the infrastructure platform stack and integration with our services.~crlf~##Support project implementation which may include but not limited to design, consultation, deployment and problem resolution.~crlf~##Progress problem/incident resolution including those outside area of expertise through to successful implementation of solution.~crlf~##Provide third-line support for the platforms where necessary, which may include out of hours standby.~crlf~##Collaborate with and manage 3rd party vendors and support organisations to achieve desired outcomes.~crlf~##Maintain Platform Infrastructure risk visibility and remediation plans.~crlf~##Responsible for technical assessment of team member recruitment.~crlf~ ~crlf~Financial Scope~crlf~##Ensure systems, services and infrastructure are designed and maintained in an effective manner to manage costs.~crlf~##Contribute to budget forecasting for platform refresh cycles and manage financial risk throughout the platform lifecycle.~crlf~ ~crlf~People Responsibility~crlf~##Technical & thought leadership of platform function. ~crlf~
The job holder will have a proven aptitude in a technical leadership role working alongside internal and external resources. ~crlf~ ~crlf~##Proven ability to lead problem solving within infrastructure teams.~crlf~##Ability to gather and assimilate information~crlf~##Up to date knowledge of technical applications ~crlf~##Good knowledge of quality standards, legislation and industry best practice~crlf~##Ability to be adapt and prioritise~crlf~##Ability to work unsupervised, under pressure and meet deadlines~crlf~##Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solutions~crlf~##Proven ability to technically lead a team of professionals and be able to provide thought leadership to a team of technical experts. ~crlf~##Proven ability to lead technical workshops with emphasis on collaboration and clear decision making skills.~crlf~##Ability to suggest and communicate well thought out solutions that deliver business benefit. ~crlf~##Ability to interpret technical specifications and be able to lead / influence solution designs to complex requirements and problems.~crlf~##Understands impacts of requirements on other technical and business areas and can effectively communicate the implications and also suggest alternative ways of achieving the desired goal.~crlf~##Able to define, track and contribute to a project plan and to organise and lead infrastructure project delivery as required.~crlf~##Able to present and organise efficiency improvements of support processes.~crlf~##Proven experience working with software change control systems and adhering to change control processes of technical environments~crlf~##Degree or HND in Information Technology would be desirable but not essential, equivalent experience considered~crlf~##Certification in relevant specialist area.~crlf~
