  • Job Purpose/ Role

    Head of Technical Reserving P&C is reporting to the Head of Corporate Actuarial Allianz Re and is a seasoned professional who owns and leads: ~crlf~##the development of a team across locations (Munich, Dublin, Bucharest)~crlf~##the development and maintenance of reserving processes for the P&C book of Allianz Re according to current and future reporting models (e.g. MVBS/IFRS 4/IFRS 17/Singapore GAAP)~crlf~##the estimation and monitoring of the company’s non-life reserves~crlf~##monitoring and validation of reserves advised by certain cedents under net quota shares~crlf~##the QRT reporting for the company’s actuarial QRTs in coordination with the L&H team within Corporate Actuarial Allianz Re~crlf~ ~crlf~Future challenges: ~crlf~##Ensure financial position of P&C is well understood and reported appropriately, especially w.r.t the future accounting standard IFRS 17~crlf~##Set up and streamline reporting processes to all stakeholders (internal/external)~crlf~##Support strategic P&C initiatives within the mandate (e.g. through adapting reserving processes for complex transactions, if material)~crlf~##Maintain and further develop actuarial models

  • Key Responsibilities

    ##Oversee, streamline and execute the financial reporting process for both internal and statutory issues (IFRS 4/17 reserves, Singapore GAAP, MVBS)~crlf~##Quality assurance of the reported figures, both on the balance sheet / P&L and in supplemental reporting (esp. QRTs)~crlf~##Provide services to non-US locations/subsidiaries w.r.t. the local reserving~crlf~##Contribute to the annual review of key assumptions~crlf~##Identify and confirm market trends for P&C~crlf~##Participate/Present to Reserve Committee Meetings within the management responsibility of Allianz Re~crlf~##Calibration of the Risk Capital inputs for Reserve Risk~crlf~##Exercise oversight over reinsurance business not in the management responsibility of Allianz Re but written on the balance sheet of Allianz SE and Allianz Re Dublin dac

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    Required experience: ~crlf~##Experience in P&C (re)insurance (> 7 years)~crlf~##Significant experience in reserving, risk capital modeling and reinsurance~crlf~##Experience in managing international teams and working in an international environment~crlf~##Managing regulatory requirements and external auditors~crlf~ ~crlf~Required education:~crlf~##University Degree~crlf~##Qualified Actuary (e.g. FSA, FIA, DAV, etc.)~crlf~ ~crlf~Technical skills: ~crlf~##Robust P&C Actuarial Know-how~crlf~##Robust P&C Financial Know-how~crlf~##Deep understanding of (re-)insurance product portfolio~crlf~##Robust knowledge of principles and practices of other relevant functional areas including Risk, Claims, Underwriting, Reinsurance and Accounting (particularly local and international accounting rules as applied to reserving).~crlf~##Ability to understand the business needs and to develop the necessary data tools and models to support the business.
