Strategic Finance Senior/Principal Analyst

Collaborates to complete financial and competitive analysis, contributes to financial analysis of organization’s mergers and acquisition activity, and provides forecasting and strategic solutions in order to maximize the company’s financial position. This position requires excellent analytical, written and verbal skills, and is responsible for the collection, analysis, review and communication of the Company’s financial results, business drivers, and strategic initiatives to the Company’s executive leadership and senior leadership within the parent company.

- Perform research of competitors to provide meaningful strategic insights and perform relevant, accurate benchmarking of Company results vs. industry peers~crlf~- Build/interpret financial models, analyze financial results and communicate findings to leadership and business partners across the organization to support business decisions.~crlf~- Contribute financial analysis for organization’s mergers and acquisition activity. ~crlf~- Compile and review business presentations, including the Company’s Strategic and Planning Dialogues with the parent company, rating agency presentations, and ad-hoc Finance presentations.~crlf~- Identify key risks and/or opportunities and strategically influence possible solutions/outcomes.~crlf~- Proactively identify and implement process improvements and drive strategic change~crlf~- Ability to work independently on multiple, competing priorities~crlf~- Effectively respond to inquiries and requests~crlf~- Coordinate with internal and external customers to achieve clear, consistent, and effective results~crlf~~crlf~Leadership & Communication:~crlf~- Possesses general curiosity related to business and finance, and the drive to improve existing strategies and processes.~crlf~- Ability to identify and manage meaningful change and enhance efficiency~crlf~- Strong understanding of mission and vision of team, division and company, and the ability to help meet those goals and objectives.~crlf~- Proactively communicates status of job responsibilities to manager and/or team.~crlf~- Proactively communicates with internal and external customers relevant to job responsibilities.~crlf~- Serves as a team role model and works to motivate others.~crlf~- Recognized as a "go-to" resource for team and division.~crlf~- Builds strong, positive relationships across all levels of the organization~crlf~~crlf~

Required:~crlf~- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field~crlf~- 2-3 years of relevant finance and/or accounting work experience~crlf~- Ability to build financial models and/or advanced proficiency with Excel (or other financial analysis tools)~crlf~- Strong project management and problem-solving skills ~crlf~- Ability to independently lead projects utilizing knowledge of company, industry and technical expertise~crlf~- Understanding or aptitude to learn finance, accounting and actuarial concepts in order to effectively ask questions, analyze and explain financial results~crlf~- Proficient in PowerPoint~crlf~- Ability to effectively perform under ambiguity~crlf~- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~Preferred:~crlf~- 4+ years of relevant finance and/or accounting work experience~crlf~- Experience in M&A and/or financial/competitive analysis ~crlf~- Relevant certifications (CPA, CFA or actuarial exams)~crlf~- Broad understanding of annuity/life insurance industry and key drivers of financial results~crlf~- Understanding of statistics and data analysis~crlf~- Understanding of company products, structure and staff~crlf~- Works independently in resolving inquiries, requests, and problems~crlf~- Knowledge of actuarial concepts and modeling~crlf~
