Sr. Investment Accountant

As a Sr. Accountant you will focus primarily on investment accounting and will account for all transactions related to invested assets, including bonds, structured assets, loans, short-term and derivatives for Allianz Life and related companies. Working closely with the investment operations and financial reporting areas, you will report monthly and quarterly investment information to management and prepare external reporting to include quarterly and year-end Statutory and IFRS investment reports, while facilitating a strong internal control environment. Additionally, a portion of your time will be spent focusing on researching and implementing new investment transactions in collaboration with other areas including accounting policy and transaction compliance, investment operations, asset managers, financial planning and analysis and financial reporting.

- Reconcile complex journal entries between the investment accounting system (PAM) and general ledger (SAP) for a variety of instruments across multiple investment portfolios.~crlf~- Prepare and distribute ad hoc and recurring management reporting and analysis tailored to support the needs of financial planning and reporting areas, investment managers, and non-financial users.~crlf~- Research complex investment transactions and related accounting issues and ensure technical compliance with multiple-basis accounting guidance and other applicable regulations.~crlf~- Act as the lead or have a significant role on a variety of key projects while balancing competing priorities.~crlf~- Design repeatable, controlled and efficient processes used in implementing new one-time and ongoing investment transactions with a focus on automating processes whenever possible.~crlf~- Review and approve manual journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting and financial analysis.~crlf~~crlf~

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.~crlf~- 2-3 years experience required; 4+ years experience preferred.~crlf~- CPA/CMA preferred.~crlf~- Solid understanding of Statutory and IFRS accounting principles as well as internal controls.~crlf~- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency working with large volumes of data (creating and using pivots, filters, sorts, if, sum, vlookups, sumproduct)~crlf~- Familiarity or some experience with any of the following preferred: PAM for Securities, SAP, MS Access/SQL, Essbase~crlf~- Excellent organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and technical skills.~crlf~- Proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision.~crlf~~crlf~
