Quality/Training Underwriting Lead

***Role is equivalent to Underwriting Consultant level~crlf~~crlf~This person will be technically strong in the aspect of quality and training for Life Underwriting. Will work with the Underwriting Strategies and Innovations team to monitor quality and training to support significant growth. Will lead quality review program, establishing changes and uplift, conducting reviews, reporting on trending, gaps, suggesting improvements. Will also focus on training program development and uplift for both new hire and experienced hire underwriting training. Will assist in designing the programs, structure modules and schedules and lead training.

-Role will lead our quality and underwriting training program working with the AVP of Strategies and Innovation.~crlf~-Strong technical underwriter with audit experience internally or for another carrier ~crlf~-Preferred experience in training or building a training program~crlf~-Will work closely with underwriting leadership to drive uplift to both existing training and quality programs~crlf~-Able to independently work through difficult formal and informal cases by reviewing medical records, medical exams, financial documents, telephone interviews, and other underwriting requirements to determine proper risk class assessment in accordance with company guidelines.~crlf~-Act as a team lead, mentor and coach to other underwriters and Enterprise Operations employees, as needed.~crlf~-Recommend improvements to the internal Underwriting guidelines, operational procedures, and standards; participate on department projects as assigned.~crlf~-Works with our learning and development team to set expectations and path for training where gaps in staff performance is recognized or when launching a new product, rider, or program. ~crlf~~crlf~

Experience:~crlf~•6-7 years of experience required: Life Underwriting~crlf~•8-10 years of experience preferred: Life Underwriting~crlf~•Life underwriting risk analysis training required~crlf~•Life Underwriting quality review experience required~crlf~~crlf~Education~crlf~Four-year degree required: Business, communications, or medical fields of study or equivalent work experience~crlf~~crlf~Preferred: Education or progress made to achieve: FALU, FLMI, or CLU designations~crlf~~crlf~
