Technical Solution Architect - Chicago, IL
This role is responsible for coordination of maintenance and development activities on 3 Java based applications relying on technical components such as jBoss Fuse, Hibernate, WebServices, JMS, etc. The role will need to be driven in coordination with various IT departments, Project teams and IT system owners. This role is also responsible for applicability and documentation of IT processes/systems/technical and functional designs on a global basis. Additionally, this role's responsibility is to provide guidance and support to the project teams where a dependency or impact has been identified.
##Analyze application problems and define technical and functional approaches.~crlf~##Support IT strategy towards Cloud and CI/CD adoption.~crlf~##Prioritize and plan bug fixes and enhancements, including prompt deliveries, in agreement with internal IT processes and standards.~crlf~##Ensure requests and incidents are maintained and addressed at earliest convenience.~crlf~##Proactively identify and propose service improvements on business applications.~crlf~##Explore opportunities for new technologies or decommission with the EA architects.~crlf~##Conduct ad-hoc, as well as regular analysis, on applications, documentation, processes, data, etc. as required. ~crlf~##Provide guidance and information to stakeholders on technologies, functionalities, team structure, processes, etc. ~crlf~##Support teams within the AGCS IT Department with ad-hoc requests from management and stakeholders.~crlf~##Inform and frequently communicate with the user community on ongoing and future activities.~crlf~##Support project team by facilitating definition of project scope, plan, timing, costs, risk and deliverables.~crlf~##Identify dependencies and impacts with other ongoing workstreams and propose adequate solutions. ~crlf~##Follow-up with project teams to ensure timely delivery and implementation of internal processes, procedures, metrics and standards.~crlf~##Create and maintain all required application documentation.~crlf~##Develop and define a wide-range of documentation (e.g., presentations, methodology requirements, etc.) as required.~crlf~##Maintain documentation on a regular basis and be accountable for the quality and completeness (when applicable).~crlf~##Communicate on documentation content, including keeping it up-to-date, providing guidance, and providing policy and specification documentation (when applicable).~crlf~~crlf~
##Bachelor or Master’s Degree in IT Engineering/ Business Administration;~crlf~###Minimum of 5 years of IT Professional experience in Java (ideally in Financial Services sector);~crlf~##Experience in managing projects/tasks in a global environment;~crlf~##IT Process/Technical experience;~crlf~##Advanced knowledge of IT Applications;~crlf~##Strong technical knowledge ( e.g., Java, xml, xslt, jBoss Fuse, WebServices, JMS);~crlf~##Excellent organization skills with an eye towards process improvement;~crlf~##Continuous Integration skills (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, etc.);~crlf~##Strong verbal and written communications skills with an ability to communicate across the organization;~crlf~##Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; and ~crlf~##Ability to contribute to on-going projects within the organization.~crlf~~crlf~
