  • Job Purpose/ Role

    Identify and quantify major accumulation risks to assist in the establishment of the appropriate risk mitigation and control mechanisms to ensure the financial solvency of AGCS. Special focus is on Non Modeled Exposures, Model assessment & validation, Exploration of new technologies with value-added potential. The Senior Analyst role requires application of solid catastrophe modeling and GIS techniques, principles and understanding to meet team objectives and the ability to lead others in these activities.~crlf~The Senior Analyst will have responsibility for small to medium size projects and will be responsible for specific outcomes relating to: definition, execution and delivery phases of the project.~crlf~Catastrophe Risk Mgmt. is an area of rapid change. Processes, tools, research all develop quickly, and it needs to be ensured to stay on top of the developments. Furthermore, new products and lines of business might need to be integrated, and with business growth in various regions new risk assessment and monitoring approaches need to be developed and integrated, with a particular focus on the global reach of the AGCS portfolio and the specific nature of the business.

  • Key Responsibilities

    ##Evaluate, suggest and implement procedures for treatment of perils/exposures currently not modeled at AGCS for overall global accumulation control and potential, usage in internal Risk Capital model and Actuarial Pricing. Ability to define scope, agree on timeframes and execute deliverables with internal and external clients with minimal additional guidance.~crlf~##Assess, validate and run Catastrophe loss modeling software and prepare data extracts, analyses, reports and documentation with minimal guidance. For relevant analyses as well as project related tasks: Ability to define scope, agree on timeframes and execute deliverables with internal and external clients with minimal additional guidance. Ability to lead / mentor others in global loss modeling activities and related analyses including use of in-depth knowledge of model methodology and function to explain, validate modeled loss output.~crlf~##Collaboration with Chief Underwriting Office Lines of Business (CUO LoBs) and other relevant functions (Actuarial, Risk Management, Reinsurance, Cat Capacity Steering Desk (CCSD), Allianz Risk Consulting, Claims, etc.) to support business steering and portfolio management, Solvency II requirements, Reinsurance renewals and Data Quality improvements with minimal guidance.~crlf~##Provide on the spot consultancy and translate or explain CAT Modeling results and reports to users in relevant departments; Communication and explanation of portfolio impact e.g. from model changes to internal clients. Training & education across AGCS, Allianz Group as well as clients with minimal guidance.~crlf~##Drive innovation and change through managing the evaluation process relating to modeling upgrades, GIS applications and other vendor catastrophe loss modeling software with minimal additional guidance. All upgrade and change activities include technical and portfolio impact analyses and complete documentations.

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    Required Experience~crlf~##5+ years of professional insurance and/or reinsurance experience~crlf~##Understanding of underwriting practice for industrial risks and corporate business on a global basis~crlf~##Practical experience and familiarity with multiple vendor cat modeling tools~crlf~##Project Management experience~crlf~Required Education~crlf~##Bachelor or Master degree preferably in Geosciences, Engineering or Mathematics~crlf~Technical Skills~crlf~##Advanced knowledge of Catastrophe Modeling Software (RMS, AIR, EQECAT)~crlf~##Advanced knowledge of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) applications~crlf~##Advanced programming Skills (e.g. SQL, Python, R) and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access)~crlf~##Knowledge of Cyber Risk Modeling is a plus~crlf~General Skills~crlf~##Professional communication, technical depth and ability to communicate with required levels / functions internally and externally in a global environment~crlf~##Ability to deliver results, develop talent and performance and drive innovation and change~crlf~##Lead oneself and others in-line with agreed organizational strategic orientation
