Claims Team Leader - Liability (Auto/General Liability)

Lead and manage Auto/General Liability claims team. Ensure claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines. Utilize third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers and develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.

Manage team of Claim Handlers~crlf~##Lead and manage Claims team~crlf~##Manage cost center budget within plan~crlf~##Training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff~crlf~##Manage technical referrals as appropriate~crlf~##Delegate work as appropriate~crlf~~crlf~Investigation and Reserving of Claims~crlf~##Investigate claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures~crlf~##Determine appropriate reserving levels~crlf~##Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters)~crlf~##Proactively discuss and review contentious, large and complex claims with fellow adjusters and management to obtain opinions/feedback~crlf~~crlf~Settlement~crlf~##Settle claims through payment or denial~crlf~##Negotiate to ensure efficient and competitive settlement~crlf~##Ensure unpursued claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines~crlf~##Support subrogation processes~crlf~~crlf~Claims Processing and Administration~crlf~##Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems ~crlf~##Proactively review late/non-payment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting / Accounts~crlf~##Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends~crlf~~crlf~Referrals and Compliance~crlf~##Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines~crlf~##Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate~crlf~##Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters~crlf~##Undertake audits of external service providers as appropriate.~crlf~~crlf~Market Management & Relationship Management~crlf~Proactively support acqusition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)~crlf~Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives~crlf~Positively represent AGCS externally to the market~crlf~Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations~crlf~Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters)~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~

##Bachelor Degree (preferably a degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline)~crlf~##Insurance industry designations (preferred)~crlf~##Specialized understanding of LoB products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge~crlf~##Specialized understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape~crlf~##Recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market~crlf~##Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework~crlf~##Experience in working in global complex, matrix organization leading a team of professionals~crlf~##Understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages~crlf~##Solid knowledge of claim handling process from notification to settlement and recovery~crlf~##Knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application~crlf~##Ability to negotiate resolution with claimants and/or their lawyers~crlf~##Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation)~crlf~~crlf~
